of NW Arkansas.    Let me allow you in on a secret. This year's basketball team is good, dare I say, very good. There is as much athletic ability from 1 to 10 on this years Razorback basketball team since 1998. These kids are long, athletic and can run and jump like a flushed bunch of springboks. I am not in the best of health as we speak, but still I'm going to try to attend a couple of games in Fayetteville this year. Arkansans who live within 100 miles of Fayetteville, I implore you to make that trip to see THIS group of Razorbacks. I can assure you that 9 of 10 times you will not leave Bud Walton disappointed. These young men deserve THE BUD to be rocking even when we play average teams. Please don't sit on your hands waiting for them to entertain you, get on your feet and get them going and your effort will be paid back in spades. I guess what I'm trying to say is that this group of Hog cagers are a special bunch and this year can be special if you guys up there in NW Arkansas will just hitch your wagon to this shooting star of a team.
The long Grey line will never fail our country.

This is beautiful man! Great post!

Agree. This team won't just win, they will put a show on in a full Bud.

Do you have any idea how many times Hog fan have said "Hey, the Hogs ARE BACK!" only to see it all come crashing down?

I've lost count.

At least let them beat a team from an actual Power 5 NCAA conference first.

First let me ask where do you live? Second why do you think it is a northwest ark issue? Does that mean nobody comes to a game from other parts of Ar on the weekend? Check the schedule and then tell me how many you are attending?
Also I don't disagree with packing the Bud and going nuts for the Hogs! I do!

I live in Texarkana. So to drive up for a basketball even in the best of times is not just a Sunday afternoon drive. I used to attend games quite often in Fayetteville. More football than basketball simply because of the football experience, you know 72,000 people all yelling for the Hogs, the band and just the general atmosphere. I just think this team can be something we haven't seen for a while with the senior leadership that we have.

The first born is always special, but you get to enjoy the second born much more. The nervousness is over and you get to sit back and just watch a baby grow and realize that nothing can be better than to watch your own family grow. Congratulations. I don't think you'll be disappointed for the extra effort that you'll have to put forth to see this team play. Now they can't beat the Celtics or the GS Warriors, but we won't be laying on the ground "having a good bleed" this year, either.

We all know the reason after seeing the UNC loss last year. No way the refs would let us win.  ;)

But, real talk. I remember articles in the Ark Democrat during the peak of Hawgball where Wally Hall consistently stated that Nolan had so much talent stockpiled that the Hogs could beat some NBA teams.

I don't think Wally thought the Hogs had that much talent (if he did, he's dumber than I thought). I think it was just a way for Wally to deny Nolan's coaching acumen. In other words, any games Nolan won was due to his players overwhelming talent.  Any games he lost, he got outcoached.

Glad to see CMA putting some pieces together on the court that hearken back to those good old days when we knew we had a chance to beat anybody, anywhere, anytime. Back then we knew our team could take out any team in the country and every other team in the nation (and their fans and the media) knew it too. Back then, Hog Basketball fans had swagger.
Hogs up! Covid down!

Absolutely.  Four and a half hour drive for me,  but I've seen one already and plan to see at least 4 or 5 more.

Drove 4 hours to watch them play today and it was well worth it. I can't wait to see the arena packed again and these players are worth it.
My girl told me to whisper something sexy in her ear...so I leaned in and said....Dominic Fletcher.

There is no  'P5' in basketball.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

I agree that they are mentally tough, but there's nothing like a Bud Walton crowd with Razorback fans hanging from the rafters that can intimidate the very best of teams. Jim Boeheim said Fayetteville was the toughest place he'd been as a coach. Yes their superior team won only because one of their players shot like 70% from the 3 point line. I know what you are saying though, Sir Pigs.

Yes....I'm saying it would be lovely if bud was rocking like it once was. But if fans don't wanna show up and support this team....they will ball out anyway. And I love that attitude.

I went to exh 1 and first two reg season games....it's fun. I'm telling ya, the final minute of the Bucknell game was about as much fun as I've had at a non baseball event in many years. When dayday racked one and holmes balled out, twas epic.

I love watching this team.

that's to their detriment....it was a Sunday night...one cannot judge a crowd by Sunday night standards...oh well, they are only missing the one Hog team that is going to kick asz and take names this year

I'd like to see 12-13K at the Fresno game Friday night, and then maybe 14-15K for Colorado State.

If the team is 7-1, that Minnesota game on Dec. 9 is HUGE. The Gophers may be a top 10 team coming in here. Need to have 18-19K for that one.
