It was a successful run for Ronnie Peacock at Rogers.  Apparently the BOT at Bama has been reading a little ESPN the Mag and just couldn't pass up the next great HS coach.  ;)
If you don't know, now you know.

"Woke" is a term made up by people who have appointed themselves as intellectually superior as a way to describe themselves in comparison with those whom they deem ignorant.

ok, everyone getting all excited again.....  rumors rumors everywhere...  I think you all need to look at what happened to Bama before we all cheer Nutt's leaving.  Are there any top tier coaches out there?  I can think of none of the top of my head.  Gus "might" be good but that is a lot of pressure to put on a guy that just jumped to the big leagues.  If he fails it will be a long time before he gets the chance again...  He did great this year it is just a heck of a jump and he will know if he can make that jump.  If not I am sure whoever we get would bring their own OC.
So I guess I am just stressed....  better the devil you know than the devil you don't......

Frank could make whomever he hires keep Malzahn on as OC.

Malzhan?  I am a huge fan of his as far as his abilities but please don't bash me on this because I am just asking.  Say Nutt goes and Malzhan is promoted which I would love, but does Malzhan know enough coaches and coordinators to take this job?  Who would be his OC and DC is the main thing I am worried about and what about the RB's coach.  I am sure Herring and Danny Nutt would go with Houston so I am trying to figure all this out.

He is a great recruiter right?  Well I guess he could recruit an o.c. and d.c.!

Surely he could find one at a smaller school willing to move up.

yes but any HC worth his salt won't put up with that....  Frank wouldn't have put up with that when he was a HC.....

jc20

Has Malzhan been mentioned at all at Bama?

jc20

Sorry, I am unaware of his recruiting values yet.

You're right.  I thought about that right after I posted it.  Your only chance would be a well-respected coach that is extremely impressed with Malzahn and has similar offensive philosophies.

Or just a defensive specialist who has no problems with letting someone else run the offense.

Yeah, that is true, too.  Are there any good ones out there?

Kragthorpe, but I don't know any others.

Schiano...but he's obviously happy at Rutgers.

Patterson at TCU would be perfect for us.

Well, I interviewed for the Bama job and got shown the door very quickly when I disagreed with their theory that "The Bear" was cryogenically frozen under a Magic Kingdom ride in Disneyland.

This reminds me of a skit on "Mr. Show with Bob and David" where this dude fires his boss and then gets appointed to the CEO position only to fire himself. Pretty funny in a silly sort of way.

Is this the twighlight zone or what. A 2 page thread about Nutt going to Alabama based on NOTHING, NOTHING I TELL YOU. I wasted several minutes of my life reading this crap, thinking the next post would bring some substance. For the love of Mike, guys, bring some substance or go watch All My Children reruns. I want Nuttless gone as badly as anybody, but threads like this are embarassing.

You know, I'd take 2 lean years with Gus while he got settled in. His overall potential is so exciting that his final product would be a beauty to behold.  The phoenix would rise from the ashes and we'd all be damn happy with Arkansas football again.
