Sloppy with the ball. We put the ball on the ground 3 times and lost 1," Muschamp said. "Self-inflicted wounds. ... We're going to have a hard time overcoming those things. Hat's off to the defense and the effort that they had."

Muschamp praised his team's attitude in the face of adversity.

"Very gutty performance by our guys," he said. "They fought their tails off. Down 13-0 going into the fourth quarter. There weren't a lot of positive things going on and our guys fought through it. The culture of our football team is outstanding."
Parker White wins it

Redshirt freshman kicker Parker White was 0 for 4 this season, with 2 misses earlier in the day, when he lined up for a potential game-winning 31-yard kick against Louisiana Tech.

All the freshman did was play it cool and kick right down the middle to lead the Gamecocks to a 17-16 win.

Bryson Allen-Williams out for season

South Carolina linebacker Bryson Allen-Williams will miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.

Allen-Williams later announced on Twitter that he planned to use his redshirt and return next season.
