Hard to believe Solich has been at Ohio for 13 years already.

OSU has been underwhelming so far against S. Alabama.  I think they're about to get their 3rd possession in plus territory of the game, and only have 3 points to show so far.

I said in another post if you want to see how 1 hire can lead to the downfall of one of the dominate programs of our life just see Pedersen and Nebraska.  Pedersen came in thinking he was smarter than everyone and he was going to show it.  Bill Callahan???  what the hell    and Callahan thought his offense would work at that time and he was wrong.  He brought in what most thought were some stud QBs but none lasted very long.  Years later the program is still trying to get back to top 20 status on a regular basis and maybe crack the top 10 once in awhile but it does not look like it is going to be happening soon.   Oregon this week will tell us something I am sure.

They fired Solich who won more games in his first 6 years than Tommy Osborne.

Nebraska couldn't handle Texas and K-State competing. It forced them to make some bad decisions.

The league move also killed them;  they tried to play in a Texas oriented, pass first conference, and it was a terrible fit.  Moving on to the Big Ten is probably better for them long term, in terms of recruiting and play style, but it was a lost decade for Nebraska football.

They've done pretty well.  You can see the Petrino influence all over that offense, of course.   I'm really interested to see if they give a scare to either Michigan or Wisconsin-- they get Michigan @ home in 2 weeks, after playing Missouri, but have to go to Wisconsin 2 weeks after that.  The back half of their schedule looks really nice-- they avoid OSU and PSU, and may be able to get a decent bowl if they knock off one team along the way.

Knock off OSU and PSU, and he'll be coaching Texas A&M/Notre Dame/whoever big fires their coach next season.
