It won't be "easy", but it is possible. Well, anything is possible, but I think Memphis is the most beatable out of the #1 seeds.

I have never seen such delusional fans.  We have the 4th RPI in the country despite playing in CUSA, and you're not even one of the top 8 teams we've played all season.  We have 11 legitimate starters and have not allowed an opponent over 40% from the field all year.  Our stifling defense and press will wear the other team down quickly.
I'm also amused by the "sea of red" comments.  A majority of the tickets were sold to locals and speculators before tournament consideration even began.  Both schools should be alotted near equal amounts.  You will probably have an edge in attendance, albeit slight, from alumni in Dallas that can find the rare available ticket and are willing to pay $200 for them.  Memphis travels really well and there aren't enough tickets to go around at NCAA tournament games for anyone to have a home court advantage (in case you didn't know because you haven't been in a while).
I enjoy the jealous comments though.  It's amazing how since we've last met you've stayed pretty much the same, maybe even regressed a little, and we've advanced by leaps and bounds.

This guy has absolutley no clue. The American Airlines Center will be turned into Bud Walton South once again!

Considering the game was pretty much a sellout yesterday except for the alotted tickets to the schools?  Fat chance that a considerable number of tickets will appear between now and Sunday.  Ticketmaster=sold out.  Tiger ticket office= sold out by 9 this morning.  The only still viable source for tickets is StubHub and they are asking a fortune and I doubt they have anywhere close to 1,000 for sale.  ORU will sell all their tickets.  Texas fans will pounce over any excess tickets, and you still have to compete with the Memphis fans that are scrounging around too.  Unfortunately, we aren't playing in a Carrier-Dome type arena where both teams could sell as many tickets as they'd like.

AAA will be a "SEA OF RED" period!

Your best bet is if Texas loses and all of a sudden there are alot more tickets on the market.  This is a far cry from your tournament days at Reunion Arena.

I was looking at Bucknell and Memphis schedules and from what I say they havent played anybody thats really good they both have played 3 top 25 teams Memphis winning only 1 and bucknell 0. The way I see The hogs can Easily make it to the sweet 16 if they play like they have in the last 3 weeks of the season. Arkansas has played big name teams and they team could of easily had 3 losses only if it wasnt for those close loses....plus I would love to see the Arkansas VS Kansas rematch....what do yall think ?
What were you looking at? Memphis beat Gonzaga, Alabama, UCLA, Tennessee, and UAB. All were in the Top 25 when the games were played. It's good to be optimistic, but don't lose touch with reality, Memphis will throttle the Hogs.

Gonzaga is over-rated.  We also beat Bama and Tennessee.  UAB split their games with Memphis.  We may not beat Memphis, but they definitely will NOT "throttle the Hogs."  Memphis is by far the weakest of the 1 seeds.
Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do.

What do you think , each school will have 300 fans , and everybody else will just be neutral?

We do need to concentrate on beating Bucknell first and foremost as does Memphis needs to concentrate on Oral Roberts. Many of us remember the stigma that was Oral Roberts and hopefully Memphis will suffer thru that one too. With that said, if we get to play Memphis I hope and pray that the GOOD LORD will allow the HOGS to literally run these imposters right of the gym. Until they can claim a National Championship in any sport then they are second class citizens! Let the WAR BEGIN!!!

[/quote]many people bought tickets before memphis fans bought tickets. i know of at least 10 families in little rock who bought tickets last year when they knew a regional was in dallas. if you combine the many people who did just that, with the fact that many alumni live in texas, arkansas will have a decided advantage. if you dont think so, just wait till friday.

I had the pleasure to attend the MSU/ UAB game this past Sat. I had good tickets, suite, in fact. There were at least 3 to 4 thousand empty seats in there and thats not counting the abandoned OPUS club and the suite boxes were not near full and the annouced attendance was 16 and change. I heard the Tiger fans and let me tell you the first thing out of my mouth is this place ain't loud at all. I looked at my brother, who is a tiger alum and said this ain't even close to the Bud on an average day, he nodded in agreement. The place is swanky, i'll give it that but its so huge and holds not much more than the Bud in the end. Its an arena not a made for basketball arena like the Bud.

I have serious issues with the travel support for the Tigers. Oh, sure they have their diehards, but so does A- State. It was mentioned that the Hogs didn't travel to the SEC tournament, true, but I was ready to drive on from Memphis had we won on Friday. But the hogs have not fared well over the years, Nolan never took the conference shindigs seriously unlessit was to save his azz anyway. But, Dallas is a different story, we own Dallas, hell a Razorback owns the Cowboys. Do not be fooled into thinking that Texas will show in droves, they won't, they were out drawn this past weekend by Kansas. I know its hard for the Memphricans to fathom just how its going to be pulled off but trust me it will, the town is already rolling out the red carpet for us, its been way too long, we dropped by for a visit earlier this year and said hello and they want us to come back, they just hope the Memphricans won't steal their cars or rape their children  on the way out of town, thats stuff Memphis is good at.

Memphis is extremely overrated.  CUSA?  If they get past ORU, they'll be in for a rude awakening.  We'll be sending Calipari home to Memphis wishing he had never heard of the Razorbacks.  We'll set their program back a few years.

Our toughest challenge will be Kansas.  That's where it may end.

Bring it on.  There is one thing we know about in Memphis and that is BBQ pig........you'll go down like all the others that have tried and failed this year.

I'm not sure but to me it looks like Memphis took on a # 1 seed Duke, # 2 Texas, UCLA, Tennessee, # 3 Gonzaga, with Bama, WiscMilw, and Winthrop being Tourney teams. I'm not sure how this is nothing but obviously you have your reasons. Sure they lost @ Duke and lost to Texas at home but they also beat Bama on the road as well as a Cincinnati team(which still had Kirkland before he was injured) that most think should be in the dance.

I lived in eastern Arkansas in the early 90's when the PIG-a-mid was being built. Listened to a lot of their sports call in shows. I distinctly remember memfuss fans complaining about that new arena being built ALL THE WAY across town, saying it was too far to drive, etc...   Memphis is nothing but a mish-mash of various SEC fans that support the local team on off days or when they happen to have a good season. a few years later BWA rose on the hill and the PIG-a-mid wasn't so shiny anymore.

Yes it will due to the fact that there is not a public transit line that goes directly from Memphis to Dallas.  Their fans won't be able to find a ride.

Yea we would love to give up the FedExForum-- the NICEST college basketball venue in the country, for Bud Walton Arena.  Our facilities are a huge recruitment tool.  We win games- we go celebrate on the arena's doorstep at Beale Street.  You win games, you hit up aisle 19 of Wal-Mart for the post-game celebration.
