Sir Oinksalot

...ahhh, when you put it this way, heck yeah on this class !!  I mean, I already knew we had many beasts in the barn but when FSU the
biggest cesspool not in the SEC was offering our #20 and #24, this really put things into a great perspective for us...

Thanks for the post, I loved it...

You have two kinds of tough guys... those that do it from behind a keyboard, and those that juggle soap in prison just to show they're a fearless bastard.

HSVhogfan2

I have always thought the offer list on recruits meant more than the "stars" did. AR used to get 3 star players away from Tulane and Rice. Now they get them away from Nebraska and Auburn.

You can add another for Texas, because I know they went after Gragg hard.  O'Grady and Gragg were the 2 top TE's on their list.

Great post by you and colbs!

Changed it, thanks. It would be interesting to see a complete list (like this) of all the offers, for all of the players.

Don't remember going head to head so much with OU.

Louisville = 7

Where are the directional schools?  ???

Somethin's wrong here !

" GO HOGS "

cypert2

Swinging on the two and the four.

I just don't remember a class where almost every signee had at least one other P5 conference offer.  I just think some people get too wrapped up in stars and recruiting rankings.  You have to get good players and you have to be able to develop them.  There are some teams that always finish in the top 10-15 in recruiting rankings but never finish that high in the actual football rankings.

PaintballHog

If Bell wasn't all Hog forever he would have an offer list similar to Denmark.

Dean would've had acouple SEC and BIG12 offers prolly too.

Scott7703

Great work on the list fellas. Hard to knock this class when you see all those offers. Our recruitin is only getting better and will continue as we continue to improve on the field.

Great post Colbs!

If anybody needs confirmation of a players capabilities and ability to be a high level contributor, the offer list is the best indicator!

Was listening to a sports radio show out here in AZ and Mike Leech was on, it was actually on Sirius radio, but he talked about how crazy recruiting rankings are from these services. He talked about how he "hopes" that very few coaches even look at those. He said that there has been 5 star players that he has watched film on and evaluated and wouldn't even think about offering because they aren't very good. He also talked about how college coaches don't get these services to gameplan, develop, and work with these players so he thinks it would be very foolish to give their services too much consideration when recruiting kids.

He said it truly is one of the things he hates the most about football today.

Also, some kids can't afford to go to camps and are really not ever evaluated by recruiting services.

I was thinking RD said Pulley had offers to TN and A&M too.  Maybe I'm confusing someone else.

Let's look back at the 2005 class with Felix and Darren under Nutt.  It was ranked 23rd in the nation (right around where this class ranks). That class was filled with:

Mike Aguirre - no other offers
Rod Coleman - Ark St, Jackson St
Joey Crossland - no other offers
Casey Dick - no other offers
Fred Fairchild - no other offers
Reggie Fish - SMU
Elston Forte - no other offers
Cord Gray - no other offers
Matt Harris - no other offers
Kevin Hubbard - no other offers
Jamar Love - no other offers
Antwain Robinson - UAPB
Kevin Thornton - a 4* with no other offers
Jose Valdez - Ball St, Northern Illinois, Cent. Mich.

That's 14 reaches out of 24.  How the hell does a class end up 23rd and have so many reaches in it? The class we signed yesterday as a whole blows this class out of the water.  Jones and McFadden were absolute studs, but two players do not make a class.

Let that sink in for a bit as to how good a class we just signed yesterday.

I think he did.  I know A&M was trying to get him to visit.  For anyone thinking his offer from FSU wasn't committable, FSU was trying to get him to come in for a official visit the last weekend.
