I wonder what the legalities are in that situation.

It doesn't look like Savage was planning on pulling his punches either.

I don't know for sure about the legal issues, but I feel pretty confident that all bets are off when the rail is jumped.

I was wondering cause when I worked ring crew, we had to the guard the rail and the biggest rule was to NOT let the workers get hit by a fan ...some legal reason... never asked why..
