Anybody remember why Skipper was out in 2nd half vs GA?

Watching a replay of that game, and he was consistently getting beaten by a speed rush and by stunts up front. A big part of it was probably from an injured ankle but I cant remember for sure. Was the move to put Kirkland out there due to injury in that game or because Skipper was getting beaten or both?

I think he was being targeted for some pretty bogus calls but he was getting beat by the rush early
