One of the coaches may not survive the game.  Literally.

You think one of the coaches will die during the game?

No.  But my wife's eyes may actually pop out.
That's a pretty girl.  I caught her twice.  12.5 pounds.  I hope she's still alive.

I am glad you didn't mistakenly say "literally" again, haha.

She's mad at me now and says she's going to her sister's to watch the game.

The 2009 team we destroyed was worse than this year's team.  Williams the running back and Christian Kirk are as good as we will see all year.

Among those on the 2009 A&M team:

Von Miller
Ryan Tannehill
Christine Michael
Cyrus Gray
Jeff Fuller
Ryan Swope

Swope caught close to 90 passes for 1,100 to 1,200 yards one year, Fuller was a stud all-conference receiver, Michael and Gray have spent several years in the NFL, Tannehill is a long time starter at QB...and I don't think I have to say anything about Von Miller.

Battle of the coaches trying to save their job.

Do we win for the first time in 6 years or no?

Of the two coaches in this game Sumlin is more likely to get fired by his administration, if he loses, than CBB in the event that he loses.

We may pull this out...I wouldn't bet on it.

Isn't it strange Bielema coached Arkansas teams are winless against A&M. And the guy he replaced never lost to A&M you know the guy Long fired and in another thread says Long and Bielema saved Razorback football.

Rayzback

Homer say yes... hoping we roll the dice on the passing game and it works.  If it's not there, it's going to be a bad day.

I want a poll that had the same question but added if you had to put $1000 with your vote.

CBB has never beat A&M while coach at Arkansas.  We have blown some big leads in the 2nd half.  We have found all kinds of ways to lose to them.  A&M has had much better recruiting classes the past few years and even though they are reeling from the UCLA come back loss they are a  better team.   I hope we beat A&M but right now after watching every SEC team play on our schedule I could not vote especially if I had to put $1000 on the vote that we will beat any of our SEC games other than Missouri.

solitons

I hope it's a game we win, but from watching we pay with TCU and TAM play with UCLA, I don't have the confidence to say we will win

Tiredofhogssucking

For whatever reason Bielema has players that are more finesse than power.  Maybe its because high schools emphasize more finesse offensive schemes.  Anyway, we're trying to run a power offense with players used to more finesse style and we haven't been successful inside the red zone (or even the 5 yard line) against A&M.

I predict more of the same.  Stalled drives inside the red zone, with a suspect kicking game will cost us the win....AGAIN!

bvillepig

We beat them if we loosen up and the coaches quit limiting what we do based on over analysing A&M.  Let Enos throw the playbook at them. Have some fun and kick there rear.

I think yes.  Only because their starting QB got knocked out for the season.  We should be able to keep their offense off the field for that reason only.  Whether our offense has discovered Viagra and overcome their impotence or not is another matter entirely.  The defenses could decide it.
I don't like to plan my day because then the word premeditated comes into the conversation.

Unless they turn the position over to Hubenak and he flourishes they have no QB.  When you have no QB you have no offense and you're trying to win 10-7 games or get a defensive score or two to get to 17 or maybe 20.  Mond is abysmal.  Sumlin lost the UCLA game because he insisted on playing him exclusively when Starkel went out with his injury.

This is by far the worst A&M team we will have faced since the series resumed in 2009.

All that is to say that the jury is out.  I'd say it is a coin flip game.

Hubenak is hurt, Mond is the starter.

HognotinMemphis

As predicted, vast majority now say we lose to A&M. Before the season, vast majority said this is the year we beat A&M. So many are  just pushed around by the winds.

The Hogs will improve over the next week. They have had 2 weeks to improve before the A&M game. Look at the improvements they made in Spring practice and fall camp. A&M can score but they cannot defend the pass. Look how well we have thrown the ball so far. The Aggies will not be able to defend our receivers or get pressure on Allen. I believe Allen could have a career day vs the Aggies. 300+ yds passing easily.

This contest should be high scoring. The Razorbacks will have their coming out game and destroy the Aggies. 500+ yards of offense and score in the 40's. Win by 10 to 15 points at least.
I don't want you to agree with me because you're weak. I want you to agree with me because you know I'm right.

I voted no. from what I have witnessed they are going to struggle all season.

If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

TNRazorbacker

I don't see it. Team has no grit or identity. Looks dazed and confused.

The matchup is bad for us too. A&M hasn't been too hot either but their run D has been a bright spot. I look for them to handle our O similarly to what TCU did.  They'll pile it on late.

But in 2009, they weren't any good.  The team was 6-7 and gave up over 60 points to both OU and K-State.  Our game was a glorious 47-19 too.

We've lost 5 straight to them.  Why would this year be the one? Their talent is superior to ours.  All they have to do is load up to stop the run and our offense is done.

Said before the TCU game that if Arkansas played TCU the way they played Florida A&M that the "Horned Frogs were gonna take our lunch money."

IF, aTm plays us the way they played UCLA IN THE FIRST HALF OF THAT GAME, aTm will beat us by 4 touchdowns.  They will stomp a "mud-hole" in us and our fan-base will be in total "dumpster-fire-mode."  Additionally, aTm will have had an additional game under their belts to work through some rough spots and  fine tune their timing with additional live-snaps against someone other than "themselves in front of a game crowd.  Don't think our "bye-week" will be helpful being so early in the season and coming off an embarrassment to TCU at home.

Watching the aTm game this morning, and  Mond looks much better throwing the ball so far.

That's exactly what I said during their first series. I was expecting him to be all over the place and really look bad . Unfortunately for us he seems to be able to throw a little.

Didn't he almost get picked just then?  (I was reading HV and missed it.)

Noticed they started true freshmen at both corners today.

He just hit a man in stride for a 77yard gain.

He threw an int that could have been a pick six. So I guess like most freshmen he is going to be hit and miss. We just need to take advantage of his mistakes.

I don't think it's very likely we beat the.   Looks like most of the people on here agree.   But you never know.  atm is it's own version of a trainwreck too.   That's why they play the game.

razorsharptusk

Beat them with what? They have more talent than we do and better coaching.  Look, A&M whipped UCLA, got complacent and lost.  They still put up plenty of points to win that game.  Should have won that game.  They could easily be 2/0 right now. Will be 3/0 after today.  We are not winning this game.

TAMU is not good.

They depend on special teams and turnovers.  We don't turn the ball over, it is a should-win.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

LRHog

If we lose to a team that struggled to beat Nichols and is currently tied up and going back and forth with Louisiana-Lafayette then Bielema and staff should be cleaned out by the following monday.
