Who do we have a winning record over since we joined the SEC?

I was thinking Miss. ST/Vandy and maybe Ole Miss and South Carolina but other than that I couldn't think of anymore.  I think Kentucky is 50/50.

Is Florida the only team we havn't beat?
Just Play to Win Baby!!!

hogfan064

Since joining the SEC in football.

Florida 0-5
Georgia 1-6
Kentucky 2-2
LSU 5-9
Ole Miss 8-6
MSU 10-4
USC 8-6
Tenn 2-9
Vandy 2-1

If you want I can post alltime also

WAIT A MINUTE.  We beat Florida in the 1982 Bluebonnet Bowl.  Keith Burns intercepted a pass in the end zone and recovered a fumble in his last game as a player.  Does that count ???

We weren't in the SEC then.  The records above are since 1992

Apathy

3-20 against Florida, Tennessee and Georgia.  Wow.

49-64-1 overall.  Wow.

If that's not mediocrity over a period of 14 years, what is?  Who would have believed that this was the fate of the Hogs when we moved in '92.

How many actually believe that we will be a perennial contender at some point in the future or will our record over the next fourteen years be similar with a good season or two thrown in.  I believe it is the latter, and therefore I will continue to cheer for the kids who don the cardinal red, and wish the best for them, but my emotional investment will always be minimal.  It is too disappointing otherwise.

I am not even sure that you can call us a mediocre SEC team.  Overall, compared to other college teams, we are mediocre.  In the SEC, we are just bad.

I wouldn't say bad.  UK and Vandy are bad.  Arkansas has at least been to a SEC title game twice.  We're better than Ole Miss and USC at least.  Not where any of us want to be, but its where we are

Our record against kentucky and vandy is 4-3.

We need to recruit texas and get a real coach too.

True but the losses to each teams were in there best seasons.  The loss to Vandy was Vandy's best season in years and the losses to UK were during a very good 7-4 season for UK and during a Tim Couch/Hal Mummie game.   If we played both teams every year the record would be something like 21-7 combined if not better

QuoteUK and Vandy are bad.

QuoteOur record against kentucky and vandy is 4-3.

Our current coach is 2-3 against those teams.  So we are about even with the "bad" teams.  That makes us bad.

To defend the losses to Kentucky or Vandy by saying they were good those years is just plain sad.  Anytime a team like Kentucky (99 & 02), Vandy (05), Ole Miss (03), Miss St (98), or SC has a "good" season they beat us.  Nutt has 7 quality SEC wins under his belt.  SEVEN!

Two appearances in the SECCG doesn't mean squat when you backed into one of them (2002) with Bama being on probation and you score a combined 6 points in both trips.

Dwight_K_Shrute

At least we own MSU  7 wins in a row and counting.  Woo Hoo that's domination brotha.
Little known fact, but prior to settling on Guantanamo, the Pentagon wanted to house terror suspects at War Memorial Stadium.  It was deemed to be cruel and unusual punishment and in violation of the Geneva Convention.

This isn't a question about Nutt.  This was a question about how the Hogs have done since joining the SEC

South Carolina is 21-7 against Vandy and UK since joining the SEC.  Do you not think that Arkansas is better than USC in the last 14 years?   Put Arkansas in the SEC East and we would beat UK and Vandy 80% of the time

rzrbaxfan

I only mention Nutt's numbers just because aside from 95, the numbers before Nutt are even worse!

The point of "at least we are better than Kentucky and Vandy" is debatable.  The fact that we are debating it is embarrassing, ya think?

But we would be losing to UT, UGA, and UF 87 percent of the time.  3-20-  against the three beasts of the east-not good at all.

I don't think anyone would say UK and Vandy are better than Arkansas.  I don't think anyone would say MSU, Ole Miss, or USC is either.  Arkansas is 7th best team in the league since joining.  I'm not happy with that, but that's where we are since 92.

With this celebrated class he's got coming in, he'd better be a bit more than excited. Not that he'll be run off after another ho-hum season, of course, but a win or two and a trip to the Black & Decker Garbage Bowl would be nice.

GorillaJMonsoon

Ok, so now lets look at Nutt's SEC record so we can evaluate his job so far.  I know that at least one of the Auburn wins and one Tennessee and one Alabama win came under Ford, so where do I find these numbers?

Tusks

What is everyones conference record since 1992?  I'd be curious to see how far behind or ahead Arkansas is to other schools.

NOT making excuses....but for a while I think after 2000 the Hogs had a better SEC record than LSU....not now but at one time I think they did.  Maybe same thing for Georgia before Richt got there because Goff was terrible.

Bottom line is....NUTT is in his 9th year as HC.  Second longest tenured coach in the SEC and he has an overall LOSING record in Conference games(31-33)...... That's just awful in my book....That's like Ritchie Brooks being the second tenured coach......   If after 8 years NUTT cant' do anybetter than sub .500 something has to give.....  Isn't it kinda obvious....... We are 7th in the SEC probably.....and fixing to be 8th....in a few years once Spurrier is ROLLING again....and that's just a matter of time....  Spurrier will win the SEC championship before NUTT does....

Tusks

Remember when Grit used to say that HDN will win a SECC before Tubby and that He'd win a NC before Mac Brown.  I think after Saben was hired he took a shot at LSU for hiring a carpet bagger and said he'd never win big there.

That is some cosmic insight.

remember the Tim Couch game we won in 98' under Nutt.  And the 03" ? 70-
something 7 overtime game in lexington against their 320 lb quarterback. How in the world could you forget that!!!!!!!!!!!  As bad as we've been, every victory counts especially over a well known basketball school like them!!!!!  That makes us 2-2 against those wussies, not 1-2

The 0-1 against that Brain school in Nashville SUCKS THOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
