    Yeah, but it's a chain.

  • Wright’s BBQ
    Catfish Hole
    Sassy’s Red House

He's taking his fiance, not his wife of 20 years, lol.

    For a steak, Doe's or Herman's; for a burger Hugo'; for a Dickson St bar burger atmosphere JJ's; for a quieter meal Bordino's;
  • #18454 by ucahogfan on 17 Feb 2018
  • Yeah, but it's a chain.
Yeah, they have exploded growth wise in the last couple of years. Being from Conway, I’ve been there since the beginning. Back when the original restaurant of that group was Pitza 42.
  • #18455 by sir-pigs-a-lot on 17 Feb 2018
  • Yeah, but it's a chain.

I guess it is by definition, but I don't think of it that way. It's a local place in the same way I think of Slim's.

Speaking of, Slim's is a great place to go get some chicken tenders and fries.
  • #18456 by BroyledNutts on 17 Feb 2018
  • Anything except Italian she doesn't like that haha

    Let's have a little more info -
Will you be dining after the game?
Do you intend to stick around until the dinner hour?
What budget level are we looking at?
Are you looking primarily for Fayetteville area, or are you willing to travel some?

Slim's ain't local anymore, no more than WM is local.

Now, I enjoy their chicken tenders, but I was thinking more of offering him something he couldn't get in several other locations in Arkansas, or elsewhere.

  • My family & I like:

Pesto Cafe on College Avenue in Fayetteville-Italian

Venesian Inn in Tontitown on 412 West-Italian and Fried Chicken, rolls, soaked salad, great lasagna

  • Hammontrees is a nice little gourmet grilled cheese shop. It's super popular.
For burgers, feltners is a good bet.
A taste of Thai was always my favorite sport for Thai food. It's Soo good.
Penguin Ed's was my go to for BBQ
DAMGOOD pies is legit for pizza. Can't beat it.
Wanna good steak, go to Herman's
Tacos 4 life....let's just say is the best tacos you'll ever eat.

Don't eat at catfish hole, greenhouse grill, or cafe rue Orleans. They are overpriced and over hyped.

Sir is spot on with all of his choices.....and Taste of Thai is some of the best Thai around not just in NWA
  • #18460 by sir-pigs-a-lot on 17 Feb 2018
  • I'm just glad nobody said AQ chicken. In remember when that was about all we had going up there.

  • Wright’s BBQ
    Catfish Hole
    Sassy’s Red House
PW is correct...Wright's BBQ is on point! That is good stuff.

Some of my favorites that you can't go wrong with either:
    Doe's
    Herman's
    Bordinos
    Farrell's
    Hugos
    US Pizza

If you want wings, Foghorn's. Best wings in NWA.

  • Abuelos is my favorite Mexican restaurant. Upscale and located on Walnut in Rogers
  • #18467 by Inhogswetrust on 17 Feb 2018
  • Hugo’s - downtown.

If I was told I could only eat in one or two places every time I came to Fayetteville Hugo's is #1 and Herman's is #2.

Chain. Not upscale but decent. We eat at the one in Memphis some.
  • #18469 by Oklahawg on 17 Feb 2018
  • Much better Mexican restaurants all over Springdale if you want real Mexican food instead of tex-mex

    Taqueria Guanajuato
    Charlys Taqueria

You ain't kidding. A fave from the days they were located in East Tulsa.

Gotta give a shout out to Mama Z's in Tonitown for very casual, good italian food. Enjoyed the beans and cornbread there once as well.

  • I figure we will go eat after the basketball game since the games are back to back...  appreciate all the help and info thanks

    For pseudo-dinner after basketball I'd head to Farrell's -
Grab a blue cheese burger with fig jam and a batch of garlic Parmesan fries ... Top it off with a cold Yeungling draft

    Ha, true.

As an aside, does Columbia Mex off MLK still exist?

Man, thinking about what I would have recommended years ago... In the process, looking back on living on Dickson with nostalgia.

I think Doe's is the correct answer.
