38-36 in SEC play
0-5 vs. GA
0-3 vs. FL
3-6 vs. LSU (0-4 since '02)
2-4 vs. Tennie
1-1 vs. Vandy (gust of wind)
2-2 vs. Kentucky (7 OT win w/ MJ)
.500 against Bama and 1 game over .500 against Auburn.
0-3 in SECCGs
0-2 vs. USC (120 against - 31 for total points)
2-5 in bowl games (0-3 vs. Big Ten)
0 BCS appearances
67-43 overall with 19 wins over the likes of SEMO, Mizzou St., ULM, etc. and 21 wins over
the Mississippi Schools, S. Carolina and Vandy.

Why can't huggers debate the facts?  I don't want a coach here that would be satisfied with a record like this.

Rome wasnt built in a day and this thing is a work in progress...Sure you can put up those stats and hard facts but, how many other teams have 0 BCS appearances?  How many schools have even won a bowl game?  How many teams are 0-2 or worse against USC?  How many teams have lost to Vanderbilt before?  Those numbers dont paint a very good picture...Look at the days before Nutt arrived...Razorback stadium was lucky to draw 40K...If your talking about facts..you may as well say that Nutt as brought the interest to Razorback football to an all time high...you may as well say most of you werent around in the Jack Crowe and Danny Ford days...you may need to add that he has a 2-1 record against Texas.  Why dont you add that he has produced more NFL players than anyone else here in a long time if ever..I dont know?  What about after the Auburn game?  All of the road hogs...were chanting his name.  I was there, if your gonna keep stating fact why not state all of them?

You need to answer your own questions and put up the facts and #s you talk about. I did. Heres another fact for you:

http://missouri-football.aolsportsblog.com/2007/01/28/has-the-bcs-changed-how-we-view-coaching-success/

You are right on one point... Nutt did bring Razorback football out of the basement left by Ford/Kines/Crowe. I was actually excited when he got here.

But the fact of the matter is that he can't keep riding that "he brought us back" and he's better than Ford/Kines/Crowe" coattail forever. He's had 9 years, and isn't getting the job done... Period. It's time to move on and get someone else in here.

And I was here for Crowe/Kines/Ford. I went to school with Crowes son.
I was booooorn to love you... I was booooorn to lick your face... I was booooorn to rub you... but you were born to rub me first - Ty Webb

The people I know and respect will not just turn on a coach for the sake of doing so.  It took me 9 years to want Dale out.   Pelphrey will be given ample oppurtunity to succeed....atleast by me.   Believe me when I say I don't like being for a coach getting fired.   I believe in retaining coaches that deserve it.   I can even be convinced to "give him another year" quite easily.    I would have been ok with keeping Stan, though I'm happy with Coach Pel.

Speaking for myself, I will be in a good mood most of the time.  I will be a hugger and as big of a homer as Rick for the next coach.   The notion that we all want to gripe and moan is BS.  We want something and someone to be proud of.

My thoughts exactly.  I always give any coach five years to prove what he can do with players he recruited.  We have seen what Nutt can do and it time to turn that page.

There will appear a rainbow stretching from Springdale to Texarkana.
We can talk about that.

Okay since a thread has not been started on this on at least a week I will put my 3 cents in.

1) The clouds will part and Champagne will fall from the Sky.
2) A bunch of posts on how the Darksiders were right.
3) The darksiders faction will splinter. Some in support of the new coach, others criticizing the fact that it was not their coach, and still others critcizing the fact that we had to pay 250k to an outsider firm b/c the new A.D & John White don't know how to interview a football coach, and everyone will still blame Frank.
4) Finally everything will settle down a little, and there will be smaller fights about play calling ad recruiting.
The over used wildcat will be rendered ineffective as it was after our 8-0 starting QB was benched!

Seriously, what will people have to discuss on here after he is gone? How can we go on without the "Hugger vs Darksider" debates on here constantly? Maybe we can start up the GSD again?

It will be boring until the new guy does something that the "new darkside" does not like.  There will always be arm chair qb's and people who complain about the coach.
People ask me what I do in winter when there is no baseball.  I will tell you what I do. I stare out the window, and I wait for spring.

Ridiculous.  Many, including me, were strong believers in DMW until he spit the bit...for me in 2003.  I gave the man 5 years to prove his worth.  He failed.  Most gave SH five years.  The assertion that some fans gripe and want the coaches head all the time is ridiculous nonsense.

It's almost as ridiculous as giving a coach with a .500 lifetime record over 9 years, a lifetime contract.  I guess some people are content to underachieve.  Sad.

I really believe Hog Fans will support anyone who's a winner that honors his position, his kids, and who shows a modicum of respect for the fans.  HDN hasn't done that.

We'll be talking about not seeing the posts by the blind , deaf and certainly dumb
Huggers as they will be gone too . We will be talking about the positive things that
are happening with our football program and be upset that the BOTs did not get rid
of Nutt sooner .We'll be talking about the success of Gus , Mitch and Damien Williams and
remind everyone what we could have had , if  it had not been for an egomaniac coach
with no charactor , honesty or integrity .  FIRE NUTT SOON !

Most of you will crucify the next coach just like you have ken hatfield, jack crow, danny ford, nolan, and of course stan heath.  That is the nature of the fan.

I've loved the Razorbacks for 40 years and have bashed two coaches during that time:  Jack Crowe and Houston Nutt.

Crowe was totally inept and destroyed a thirty year tradition of fundamentally sound football at the University of Arkansas.  I blame the ghost of Jack Crowe whenever a team throws over the top of our defense (remember TCU in '90?) or when we commit some inexcusable special teams gaff.

Houston Nutt is a better coach than Jack Crowe.  But he is an awful game coach.  The wind whistles through his ears under pressure.  More troubling is that he is a fraud, a really bad guy who hides behind his "faith" and who is guilty of the football equivalent of genocide.

But when he's gone I look forward to going back to my overflowing enthusiasm and optimism with respect to the Razorbacks.  And I expect my posts on Hogville to reflect that.

There will never be a time when ALL the fans support any coach. If he doesnt recruit someones hometown hero from, let's say, the southeast part of the state he'll have darksider converge on his character, personal life not to mention his coaching abilities.

Who knows what'll happen to this site.  No doubt though, if ya took out the Nutt crap, the pages of postings would drop considerably (pro and con).

Tell ya this much - as tired as I get of all the retread posts being on here and the seemingly determined commitment for so many to post so NEGATIVELY about the program (while professing loyalty to it, lol), I will never quit coming here because of at least two reasons:
1.  Great baseball updates!
2.  Some of the funniest and most clever posters on the net!
oh, and
3.  A general distaste for Bazzel and Rick S.

That sophomoric stuff aside though...any objective observer and even poster views the site as overwhelmingly negative toward the program, and that's unfortunate.  i wish those who have a sense of stakeholdership here saw it the same - it'd likely make this more enjoyable to read and post.

Nutt went 10-4.  We turned on him because of what he did to MM and Gus Malzahn.  If Van Horn has knowledge of the systematic harrassment of a player and stands idly by, then yes, fire his a$$.
