Quote26. Arkansas (8-5)

2015 Final Season Ranking: 26
2015 Preseason Prediction: 10-2

There's no question this will be a top 25 team once a few of the kinks are worked out in the fall camp. The running game will work – it's a Bret Bielema coached team – but the loss of quarterback Brandon Allen will hurt. The offense has just enough retooling to do to be just okay, but the defense might turn into an absolute killer with almost all the top tacklers returning.

others of note-
#94 Arkansas St, #91 La Tech,, #31 A&M,  #27 TCU, #21 UF, #12 Ole Mi$$, #11 UL,

#5 Ohio St. #4 Alabama, #3Tennessee, #2 Clemson, #1 LSU

If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

I don't question the talent Les has amassed.

I question their offensive play calling.  I question their QB play.  I question their team chemistry (read amount of weed smoked over their season). I question their team intelligence. I question their team character. I question their hearts as competitors.  I question their head coach in several areas.

And, Brother, there's a bunch of questions!!

With their talent alone we should NEVER beat those guys, yet we usually do.

If he is going on talent alone, no doubt LSU and Tennessee are top 5. If he's going on actually winning games due to coaching, I highly doubt it

LSU returns a lot of talent. I wouldn't be surprised to see them fight it out with Alabama for the West. As for Tennessee, I'm just not feeling it.

I just looked at that, no games before or after October outside the state.

Only three games outside of Tennessee-  @ A&M, @ South Carolina, @ UGA.

Texas A&M had a similar schedule last year. The first 6 games of their season and 9 of their 12 regular season games overall, were played within the confines of the state of Texas. They struggled to make it to 8-4 and then lost their bowl game to top it all off. They too were a team that was projected to have a lot of success in 2015 as I recall.

I'm sure you do. Tennessee is one of the pre-season hype teams by the media.

Here is what one of the betting sites predicted about A&M last year, and that was my point in comparing A&M from last year, to Tennessee for this coming season. You just never know what is going to happen.

Now, Sumlin figures to have his best team yet with 16 returning starters in 2015. This is clearly his most experienced team, so don't be surprised to see Texas A&M competing for an SEC West Title. Sumlin is an elite recruiter who doesn't get the credit among coaches that he deserves. His team will be looking to make a statement in 2015.

The big difference is most of us who watch SEC football didn't believe it. If you don't want to believe in UT then fine (and I'm not surprised). I don't fall for hype I trust my eyes. This team  (barring major injuries) will be very, very good.

what I don,t get is he gives us a 10-2 record and he thinks that's 26th. I like his 10-2 outlook but if that gets us up to 26th I,m gonna be ticked off.

Tennessee definitely has the talent to back up being #3 ranked, but is coaching going to be up to par to get them to that level? I don't think so. Butch can't close a big game out.

I'd take it....I would suppose #26 would mean we won at least 8?

Should we be happy with 8-5?    For how long?    Does 8-5 really cost $4M per year or could you do that for under $1M?

You should. Tennessee's schedule was a joke last year and it this year as well.

Here is Tennessee's last 6 games from last year. This is what the 2016 hype is built around.

Mizzou 5-7 (1-7 SEC)
South Carolina 3-9 (1-7 SEC)
North Texas 1-11 (1-7 CUSA)
Kentucky 5-7 (2-6 SEC)
Vandy 4-8 (2-6 SEC)
*Northwestern 10-3 (6-2 BIG)
*Did not play Ohio St. OR Michigan St.
*Lost to the 2 other best BIG teams, Michigan and Iowa, by a combined score of 78-10

Tennessee finished with a 4 game SEC winning streak by beating teams that were a combined 17-31 overall and 6-26 in the SEC.

Our schedule is and always has been front end loaded. Trust me, we'd love to spread the first 6 out.
And all the hype? I'm sure 18 returning starters has a little something to do with it. UT playes 4 teams the Hogs do. But we don't have Alcorn or Texas State.
No schedule in the SEC is a joke. To say otherwise is just foolish.

Saying it's a joke schedule isn't smacking your team, you should relax

According to their FPI they also have us finishing just outside the top 25, but last in the SEC West. I suppose it could happen, but I'm not buying being 7th in the West. I could see 4th or 5th perhaps, but not last.

No he his absolutely correct. Vandy, USCe, Mizz and are UK beyond terrible. Va Tech breaking in a new coach won't be very good (better than the other 3 just mentioned). Add in the next 3 out of conference cup cakes that all SEC teams schedule and you are at 8 wins without a game with 10pts.

I also expect Fl, UGA and A&M to be worst than they were last year. Should be a very good year to be a Vols fans.
