I think the most interesting pick in all that is the Twins even making the playoffs.  Most people are counting them out since all they have in the rotation this year is Santana.

BradyHolzhauer

In that case, how do the Mets make the playoffs? They only have Glavine, and he's aging.  Martinez isn't ever healthy anymore...
Same for the Yankees.  Red Sox will have the best pitching staff in the majors next year...the Cardinals will have the second best (this is my opinion based off what I've seen in ST), then the Tigers.

BradyHolzhauer

I do agree, tho, Twins don't have much pitching outside of Santana, although Garza is hyped to be an upcoming star.

The Tigers' arms will wear down as the season stretches long again for them this year; they have more offense, but will have more problems on the mound, and Jim Leyland will do a great job again, but another inferior National League team will win the WS on the strength of the October performance of starting pitching.

The best race of the year will be in the NL East; the Mets could easily displace either the Phillies, or the Cardinals in the playoff picture.

It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

good call on the dodgers.  They could surprise alot of people.
Oh my!

My sleeper teams are the Braves and Royals.  The Royals caught fire at the end of last year, even preventing Detroit from winning the AL Central.  I think with Alex Gordon on that team and the free agents (Gil Meche will be better than you all think), they have a chance to maybe push the Twins or Tigers in AL Central.

While I do think the Royals will be markedly improved, I just don't see them winning more than 75ish games, even under ideal circumstances.

Think of them as having the same potential as last year's Marlins squad, minus an ace and Joe Girardi-quality leadership.

I think that Dotel will have a good year at closer also.

Royals certainly have a bright future, though.

In that division, I don't see them climbing any higher than 4th in the next 3 years.

Tigers' bats are aging, they won't have the offense for much longer, although pitching is a real strength up there.  Twins can only get better over next few years, so yes, it will be hard to overcome them.  Royals will finish third this year IMO...if not, so be it, nothing to eat crow over, just my opinion.

ErieHog

I certainly don't see them passing the White Sox or Indians, either.    The Royals could be a very respectable franchise, and still easily finish 5th in that division.

I am a Hog fan. I was long before my name was etched, twice, on the sidewalks on the Hill. I will be long after Sam Pittman and Eric Mussleman are coaches, and Hunter Yuracheck is AD. I am a Hog fan when we win, when we lose and when we don't play. I love hearing the UA band play the National Anthem on game day, but I sing along to the Alma Mater. The Royals aren't ready yet. They will finish last again, I think..

Here is how its gonna stand

1. Cleveland Indians
2. Chicago White Sox
3. Detroit Tigers
4. Minnesota Twins
5. Kansas City Royals

The Indians are loaded and will be awesome, but I think it will be close at the top with top 4 all within 5 games of each other down the wire, unfortunatly, KC will be about 12 games back, which is still better than last year.
