Play-by-Play Narrative:
For many years, Hogville members who love Razorback Baseball have come together to produce these game threads with play-by-play narrative for those that depend on it as their only source and for those that just simply enjoy it. These threads have been a foundation for great Hogville discussions and that tradition continues today as this is NOT a read only thread (all Hogville posting rules apply).

JHicks plans to do the play-by-play narrative for this game on Saturday.  Jack McQueen is ready to go for the play by play for Sunday. Razorbacks #1 and A_R_K_A_N_S_A_S look forward to assisting as needed for this game and hope that the many others will continue to bring quality input to the game threads. GHG!

A win tonight will at least guarantee that we are tied with Ole Miss SEC play when we leave Oxford. Tied right now at 4-6.

Amazing that after 29 games, Jackson only has a mere 22 innings pitched.  That's not many more than zero.

He should be ready to go full bore tonight.

It's way too many for a closer, he should be around 12-13 innings in a perfect world, working the 9th inning in 13 wins........

Jackson will be challenged with pitch efficiency. It's a slight balance between getting hitters out and trying to miss bats with every pitch. He typically throws with a closer's mentality and makes a ton of pitches in 1-3 innings. That won't work as a starter. It will be interesting to see him adjust.

I believe Teague changed his approach with his start yesterday. He tried to be too pitch efficient and left balls over the plate. No walks is a great goal, but not at the expense of throwing it over the meat of the plate.

I agree.  The announcers mentioned several times last night about Bramlett stretching the strike zone.  He was very efficient in doing so.  Whether it be up, out, or in...he slowly moved his fastball farther and farther from the center of the zone.  This did 2 things: 1.  Made out hitters swing at pitches that were close, but not able to square them up as we would like and 2. The ump stretched with him because he was in control of his pitches from the start and balls 3 inches out of the zone began to look like strikes.

Did we want to steal there?

Not sure, kind of crazy if you ask me, especially with a good hitter at the plate

Guess I would be dancing to if I was facing our pitching this year.  Tough to watch cause they have been so good over the years....  Still plenty of game left. Especially getting out of this inning only down 2
