This is the 1st game of a 3 game SEC series between the #25 Arkansas Razorbacks (24-17, 9-9 SEC) and the Mississippi State Bulldogs (22-19, 6-12 SEC). Arkansas is looking for their 5th SEC series win as they begin the weekend as the only team to win 4 SEC series in a row this season. The Razorbacks took 2 of 3 games from #1 ranked Texas A&M at College Station last weekend, while the Bulldogs were swept at home by the Florida Gators. Arkansas has won 8 of their last 10 games and improved their RPI over the past 4 weeks by nearly 60 spots, from #109 to #50 at the beginning of Friday's action. The Bulldogs have won 3 of their last 10 games and dropped 2 of 3 at Texas A&M, 2 weekends ago.  Friday marks the 91st meeting between Arkansas and Mississippi State of which the Razorbacks have won 42 games and claim a record of 13-7 against current Bulldog head coach John Cohen.

The 3rd place Razorbacks begin the day 4.0 games behind Western Division leader LSU, 3.0 games back of Texas A&M and 1.0 games ahead of 4th place Ole Miss. MSU is 3.0 GB of the Hogs.

For many years, Hogville members who love Razorback Baseball have come together to produce these game threads with play-by-play narrative for those that depend on it as their only source and for those that just simply enjoy it. These threads have been a foundation for great Hogville discussions and that tradition continues today as this is NOT a read only thread (all Hogville posting rules apply).
