Toughest Wrestler of All Time?

Brock Lesnar
Haku/Meng
Harley Race
Dick Slater
Brian Pillman
Bruiser Brody
Dr. Death Steve Williams
Ken Shamrock
Scott Steiner
Andre The Giant

kliquehog

I'd love to see Haku and Brock in a real fight!

DOGALUM

If we are talking about a "real fight", give me Ken Shamrock over any of those guys.
A man who wouldn't cheat for a poke, don't want one bad enough!

hvsupastar

I don't think shamrock could beat any of the guys. Add Andre, Nash, Bradshaw, Steiner to the list as well.

Haku stories are legendary about him beating up people on the internet.

hvsupastar

But to answer the original question its Haku.  Harley Race is 2nd

1. Haku 2. Race 3. Brock 4. Dick Slater 5. Brody or Terry Gordy

Doug

How anyone can have a list like this and NOT include Abby boggles the mind. or even Shiekhy Baby...

Haku and Harley Race, IMHO, are neck and neck for 2nd behind Abby.

Oh wait, I would put Danny Hodge just behind Haku and in front of Race

Was that before or after Kevin Nash knocked him out with an open hand slap?

Lots of bad opinions in here.

If we're talking about guys who could seriously hurt other people because they were tougher than the other person or stronger or whatever I don't know how you couldn't vote for Andre first.  He could throttle anyone he wanted to if he wanted to.  As far as other legendary tough guys you'd have to say Danny hodge (pound for pound toughest), bruiser Brody, and maybe mark Henry, whose size ands world class strength alone would seem to make him a pretty good hand full.

Harley Race could thump some heads as well.

kliquehog

Haku evenRace said he would not fight him. Brody also in World Class he  made an example out of Mark Calloway before he was thevUndertaker according to Persy Pringle. He scared Lex Luger also in the ring. Goole it! Most wrestlers say Haku.

Dick the Bruiser from the old AWA. Alex Karras told a story about him that was unreal. He is supposed to have been cut by the Packers in the early 50's because he was hurting too many players. He was a beast, for real.
But, in his prime, Andre the Giant could have hurt most any pro wrestler on that list or any list. He was incredibly strong.

Read about it here. And also he was defensive capt. of the Packers.

Anyone remember Ken Patera? At the time, one of the worlds strongest men, but slow as could be.

I remember him. He tore a biceps tendon in the late 80s and was never really the same. He wrestled in the old AWA.

Big John Studd and Maniac Mark Lewin were a couple more tough guys I remember.

Andre' the Giant no doubt about it.

In an interview after Andre' passed away, Huck Hogan, who wrestled Andre', stated "No man on this earth would have ever beaten Andre' if he didn't agree to lose, he was just too big and too strong".

How does  Lou Thez get left off of a list like this.  I ounce heard Terry Funk say on the Jim Ross Podcast that the original Sheik actually hid in a bus when he found out he was booked to wrestle Lou.

I've heard too many wrestlers say that Scott Steiner was more bark than bite & that he was scared poo-less of his bro Rick and Ron Simmons.

I heard Ric Flair tell a story that Black Jack Mulligan basically bitch-slapped Harley Race and Race did nothing in return.

Don't ask Dr. David Shultz if wrestling is fake.

I agree with the comment about Andre. I would have to include Ox Baker in the mix (supposedly killed a man in the Orient with his "Heart Punch") but I went Bruiser Brody. Any time ... any where ... Chain Match, Cage Match, Strap Match (often resulting in terrible injury) he was the man.

I'm just kinda wondering what Big Papa Pump did to get on this poll? I've never really heard anything about him getting into it with anyone or anything. I think Jericho has done more to be deserving than Scotty has. Don't get me wrong, I have no problems with Steiner and thought his rambling promos were hilarious in the early 2000s, and he was great as a tag wrestler, but toughest? Dunno about that.

Anyway, if Nash (who could probably be on this as well) says it's Rude or Haku, then it's gotta be Rude or Haku. Rude just had that "dont Frank with me" look to him, and Haku was a monster.

I can't believe you guys don't know about New Jack.

The Mass Transit incident:

" ... It involved Eric Kulas, an aspiring professional wrestler using the ring name "Mass Transit", being bladed too deeply by New Jack of The Gangstas during a tag-team match. Two of Kulas's arteries were severed, he bled profusely and passed out, and needed to be escorted out of the arena with medical attention."

The Spanish Angel Feud:

"... in the course of a match, Angel used New Jack's staple gun (which he often wore around his neck with a chain) against him, stapling him in the eye. Referees called off the match, and New Jack disappeared from the air for many months."

The Danbury Fall:

"On March 12, 2000, at the Living Dangerously pay-per-view in Danbury, Connecticut, New Jack suffered legitimate brain damage and was permanently blinded in his right eye when he and his opponent, Vic Grimes, fell around 15 feet off a scaffold, missed the tables that were supposed to absorb the force of their fall and landed on the concrete floor, with Grimes landing on New Jack's head."

He said that when he landed, brain matter came out of his nose.

Vs. Gypsy Joe:

"In April 2003, New Jack was in a memorable hardcore match with longtime wrestler Gypsy Joe. Joe was continuously no-selling New Jack. New Jack also states on a shoot interview that Joe headbutted him in the nose. This caused New Jack to legitimately attack the sexagenarian with a chain, a framed picture of his aunt, a baseball bat wrapped in barbed wire, and several other weapons."

That Time He Got Really Stabby:

"During the match, New Jack pulled out a metal blade from his camouflage wrestling attire, and stabbed [William Jason] Lane nine times; This action caused New Jack to receive various felony charges, including for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and aggravated assault to commit murder.

I support the Razorbacks in the city that never sleeps.

I don't see how legitimately harming the guys who were putting their trust in him makes him tough. To me it says he didn't have the talent to make a name for himself. Having to resort to using weapons on people is kind of the opposite of being a real deal tough guy, it just makes him a psychopath.

Yeah, Big Papa Pump (Scott Steiner) is a pussycat in real life. He's actually scared of his real life brother Rick Steiner.
