Quote from: MuskogeeHogFan on April 29, 2024, 08:49:53 amI'm curious about this. Have you any links to these stories or statements from players?
When Pitt first got here he said if you enter the portal, stay in the portal. Not a direct quote but it was something like that.

Year two he reversed that because it was a bad call based on a. Yvonne era of roster management.

Quote from: Hog Hog on Today at 08:35:55 amFrom what I've seen, they are pretty similar.  I saw Pryor described as a 6'10" big guard.

Here are there per 40 numbers based on last season:

Pryor:  19.8 points (44.7% FG, 35.2% Three, 81.5% FT), 12 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.8 steals, 2.5 turnovers
Hawkins:  15.3 points (45.1% FG, 36.9% Three, 79.2% FT), 7.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.9 steals, 2.0 turnovers

Watching some video, they look at least comparable in playing style.  I think both are very versatile and able to play multiple spots.

Quote from: donnie on Today at 08:29:49 amView them pretty similarly.

Hawkins has done it at the high major level so that's very valuable.

Both versatile bigs that can put it on the deck and create a bit.

Pryor is the better rebounder and Hawkins is a much better passer.

I stand corrected.  After watching more videos and looking at the stats, they are extremely similar.  Would be happy to have either.  Hawkins is listed at 15 pounds heavier, which may not mean much.

As far as having issues I 100% agree. Shouldn't be turning over your roster in year 5 and if you are need to bring in studs which they didn't. Glad we agree  ;D

SEC Baseball Power Ranks: Top four gets shaken up

Upset-filled weekend

by: Jonathan Wagner

QuoteEvery game is important this time of the year in college baseball, and the SEC saw that firsthand this past weekend.

SEC continues to be a great baseball conference, with ten teams making the cut in this week's Field of 64 projections. Six of those ten teams are hosting a regional as of today

Fayetteville Regional

1. Arkansas (4)
2. Virginia Tech
3. Louisiana Tech
4. New Mexico*

Despite losing their series over the weekend against Kentucky, Arkansas remains the No. 4 overall seed in this week's Field of 64. The Razorbacks are still 40-9 overall, 17-7 in the SEC and No. 3 in RPI with remaining weekends vs. Mississippi State and at Texas A&M. It won't be an easy finish, but Arkansas is still safe to host as a top eight seed. Joining them in Fayetteville is Virginia Tech, Louisiana Tech and New Mexico.

Here is how our SEC power rankings take shape after a wild week. Just two weekends remain:

1. Kentucky

2. Tennessee

3. A&M

4. Arkansas

Weekly Record: 3-2
Overall Record: 40-9 (17-7)
Previous: No. 2 (-2)
Upcoming Week: vs. State (FRI-SUN)

Arkansas started its week with a pair of midweek victories over Missouri State, winning 12-7 and 8-5. They then hit the road for a trip to Lexington, but couldn't come away with the series victory. The Razorbacks won the series opener 10-3.

Recency bias :hmmm:

This is great news for everybody else. LSU is usually as talented as it gets. Let's go buy some of their players.
8
Those were two big wins for Bama and Vandy's tourney chances.  Florida as well since they have to be over .500.

Your eligibility starts the day you enroll in college (after graduating high school). As long as you never get paid to play your sport, the clock never starts.

This guy will have 5 to play 4.

Quote from: Hogo Piglitz on Today at 07:10:39 amIt isn't an issue with most teams 99.9% of the time since this started 3 years ago the teams with big turn over are teams with new head coaches that are flipping the roster.

Many coaches around the country have embraced it and have learned to use it to make the team better.

Pittman and the hogs being one of them.
