I really miss being a student and living in Fayetteville. I was spoiled watching games at Baum stadium and drinking all the beer I could handle, all for free. Those were the days...

Named Clark Eagan, Benintendi, Big Taco and Zach Jackson and James Teague as guys that had big jumps in the off season.

Newcomer pitchers: Keaton McKinney should see some early time on the mound and some JC guys will help out. As usual, most freshmen will come out of the pen, at least at the beginning of the season.

Rick Nomura, a JC transfer, switch hitter, looking at 2B and may hit at the top of order or maybe 9th.

Luke Bonfield, good to go, swinging at 100%.

Killian is 100%

New baseball: carries and jumps off the bat better. NCAA will use for 2 years and reevaluate, then he hopes for the minor league ball.

About this team: First chance since 2011 to swing better as a team and have depth on offense. Will be able to pinch hit more. Deeper at the plate, infield and outfield. Guys will have to really compete to stay in the lineup.

Paraphrasing off of memory:

Indoor facility has had a mental impact on the team. Development the last few months is better than normally sees this time of year. Guys getting better quicker and we're not panicking about getting practice time in.

Roster is set:
Have 37 in the locker room right now and 2 will redshirt, including a speedy outfielder that can steal a bunch of bases, and a walk on.

Some newcomers (freshman and JC) may take some spots from guys that have been here a while and haven't really progressed. 

Impact players:
Serrano continues to improve.
Some freshmen and JC guys (a switch hitter and a left hand hitter).
Zach Jackson has gone from 180 to 225lb's and could start or come out of the pen.
McKinney may start or could be weekend relief.
James Teague is hitting 91 to 92mph.

This is probably my all time favorite Hog baseball game to attend. We were calling the Hogs from the beginning until the end and at all the right times. The FSU coach had to come out and settle down his pitcher after the first batter because the Hog calls were so loud. If this doesn't get you ready for Hog baseball..........?

Now in its 20th year, the event features Arkansas baseball head coach Dave Van Horn and the Razorback baseball team. Fans are encouraged to get autographs and have their pictures made with members of the team. Autographs are limited to one item per person. The Razorback Diamond Dolls, RBI Girls and Ribby the Mascot will also be on hand.




The Razorbacks are one of just seven teams in the country to advance to each of the last 13 NCAA Tournaments as they look to make it 14 straight during the 2015 season. Arkansas has appeared in seven College World Series, five Super Regionals and 27 NCAA Tournaments in program history.
