Quote from: dacskc on Today at 02:19:34 pmI think you just need to go with Wilmsmeyer in center, Holt in LF, and live with it. At least that way, you've got solid defenders at all three positions. A lot of times this year, Wilms has come up in a bunting situation, but they have him swinging (head scratching). Seems like we can tinker around at DH and have some decent options, but tinkering with the OF at this point in the season isn't working—especially with the replacements not being productive either.

Maybe, but Wilmsmeyer has to figure out a way to get on a base a little, at the least

I bet he looks around

If we hadn't gone to Mac, game might be tied right now.

Burkes leading off bottom 77th:   0-1, 1-1, 1-2, flies out to Holt in center

Quote from: PorkRyan on Today at 02:20:05 pmHelfrick is going to be interesting. Has he shown enough to pencil him in the starting catcher role?  If you bring in a big transfer, Helfrick probably bounces.

Doesn't white have another year as well?

LSU transfer LB Christian Brathwaite announces commitment to Houston

by: Barkley Truax

QuoteFormer LSU linebacker Christian Brathwaite has announced his commitment to Houston out of the NCAA transfer portal.

Brathwaite played in five games for the Tigers in 2023. He redshirted his true freshman season in 2023, as the fifth game he played in was the bowl.

Before enrolling at LSU, Brathwaite played high school football at Cy Ranch.

Quote from: Pork Ranger on Today at 12:00:27 pmIt's from a few years back but you can watch it on ESPN+. Really good documentary and gives you everything you need to know about the man and his coaching career.

I was too young to remember much from the 1994 season and didn't realize how bad Cal and UMass stuck it to us that year. The man's been a helluva coach for a very long time. Good times ahead

Marcus Camby was a man among boys at Umass.  Maybe that's where Cal's rep with Centers began.  Positionless basketball aside, you can build a team around a dominant Center. But it's the dribble drive, rotation offense that he seems to be best known for.  Makes you wonder whether Battle might have worked in it, but his style of dribble drive isn't Cal's style.  His teams create space with great players everywhere.

Never been a big fan of "30 on 30", but that's one I'll watch soon.

Helfrick will be our catcher. DVH thinks he's going to be the best he's ever had

You could be right but the problem is Wilms is a below average bunter and has consistently failed to get a bunt down.
