Hate that I fell asleep on the game.  Started off rough for OKC, but glad they came back.  They are a fun team to watch.  A bunch of young guys who really enjoy playing the game together.  It is refreshing.

Quote from: Tejano Jawg on Yesterday at 10:55:06 pmJust got some good call-outs from TNT...JWill vs Gafford on the jump ball, "Arkansas vs Arkansas, with Arkansas' coach in attendance."

Three awesome in state players who were razorbacks playing on a big stage. Love to see it. I loved watching Big Dan in a hog uniform too.

Quote from: bennyl08 on Yesterday at 11:37:57 pmWhat is particularly telling about that stat? Missouri ranked 10th and went on to win 10 games and beat Ohio St.

First, and if I've said it once, I've said it 100 times, rankings without context are pretty meaningless. Our 13th ranking is closer to 7th place than 5th place is to 6th (and recall we beat the 5th ranked team in those rankings as well).

Which brings me to my 2nd point. Talent is only half the battle. Coaching is the other half. Sure, maybe you think that Pittman ain't much in that equation either. Regardless of your feelings, we were only 24 total points (2 ppg) away from going 9-3 with Pittman at the helm last year. Most would agree that we've improved our coaching staff since then.

Does that guarantee that we win 9, dare I say 10 games next season? Not a chance. We could easily go 4-8 again and fire everybody. But your stats certainly foretell doom for us either.
I'll give you this - your optimism is admirable.

Quote from: RaiderHog1979 on Today at 05:23:03 amDid anyone see last night he tweeted himself in a Hog uniform and it said committed on the picture. It started getting dome traction amongst others and then he deleted it.

It was a true story. From 2021.

Quote from: MemphisBossHog on Yesterday at 11:05:06 pmI like that thinking. Sounds plausible no doubt. Would love to get a commitment from Wags.  Would really really like to get an early commitment from Acuff for next year which could open the flood gates for 2025 recruits

Roy Acuff?  He's like 99 yrs old and ded.  And short.  Really short

Quote from: JimB on Yesterday at 08:56:06 pmThis so supposed to be ran by the NCAA. They don't care about donors to Arkansas. We always sit in the boxes when we go - guess we will see how we like the berm this time.

Sorry, but you don't know what you're talking about. In the past, I have seen big time donors who I personally know show up for the softball tournament with front row seats. These same donors never came to one game during the regular season.  I have talked to them about it so I do know what I am talking about.  Yes, the NCAA does establish the prices for Tickets, how many seats Arkansas gets, etc.  However, Arkansas Is then allowed to Allocate their seats, how they want.

Quote from: Deep Shoat on Yesterday at 11:16:33 pmUhh, most top teams are only playing 8 meaningful minutes...

Those same teams have warm bodies who can step in if there are injuries.

Depth would be my concern if not 9 roster spots were filled. Injuries could absolutely end your season. Say 2-3 key guys are out for a stretch. Then 5-6 guys are playing brutal minutes because there's nobody to spell them. Which leads to more injuries.

Totally theoretical, yes. But I'd want some sort of low level scholarship worthy talent filling the bottom of the roster.

Quote from: Atlhogfan1 on Yesterday at 12:59:52 pmBut they don't have near the leeway since they do have to seed 1-64.

But they don't actually do that though. They have rules they have to follow and sometimes it take moving teams around to do. You can't have conference teams possibly playing before the sweet 16. You can't have lower seeds playing closer to home than a higher seed. Stuff like that
