Interesting he served 2 years at Little Rock Air Force Base. Glad to have him. :razorback:

I LOVE this hire!  He seems to set records wherever he goes, and he seems to make an immediate impact as well.  I would say our coaching upgrades on the offensive side of the ball are on par with what CBB did last year on the defensive side.  Time will tell, of course, but I really feel like we now have the staff to do something special, and I think we will be able to hold on to these guys for a while.

The whole, CBB and Chaney thing seemed like a good idea (to me at least) at the time, but their philosophies are just too different, and I think we saw that quite a bit in the play calling last year.  These guys all seem to be on the same page, which could be huge going into this season.  This year is going to be special.  WPS!

• Singleton served as the Falcons' running backs coach from 2006-10 and held the title of running game coordinator from 2007-10. During his tenure, Air Force won the conference rushing title and ranked in the top 10 nationally each season.

Combining Coach Singletons experiences with Coach Enos offensive play calling will be interesting, as it unfolds.

Glad we don't open with Aubbie this year.

Correct me if I am wrong, isn't Rory Segrest our current ST coach?
No he is the specialist's coach. All of the coaches help on special teams. The offensive guys do kickoff return and punt return while the defensive coaches do kickoff and punt.

Do you happen to have any rapping skills? I think we could set you up with DJ Khaled and you could make a song entitled, "All I Do Is Bitch"

Good chance I ran into him on the golf course out there

Looking at the video I think our kids will enjoy playing for Coach Singleton.

I like that he has a steely glint in his eye. You can tell that he has been there and done that. If you try to get him to call out "Mike Hunt" during a roll call, he will know that you're messing with him.

Probably had to take that title on for legal reasons. Maybe it was in his contract that he couldn't make a lateral move.

Notice he says your boy instead of "our coach". Very telling.

I'm not worried. If he recruits like he did here Louisville will fire him in about 5 years.

It was to justify the increase in salary compared to Thomas.

or maybe they just want more than one coach working on special teams.

*"I also want to see a guy that's tough," Singleton said. "Often times it's 'A running back takes hits.' I disagree with that. One of my idols, Walter Payton, he was hitting people, even though he was carrying the ball. I want to see a level of toughness in each one of those guys."

But if the Fumble Pro makes the Cowboys' runners take care of the ball with greater consciousness, you can bet Singleton, OSU's running backs coach, will have no problem touting it.
The Fumble Pro -- essentially a football with a rope coming out of one end, leading to a metal handle for a coach to hold and yank -- was utilized in one of the drills after the team broke into position groups on Friday morning, Oklahoma State's first practice of preseason camp. Each running back stepped forward to the sideline and cradled the football, preparing for Singleton to pull. When he jerked the rope, he simulated the force of a big hit on the ball.

I think he'll do fine, teaching Hog Ball.

Having grown up most of my younger years in Jacksonville that gives me great reasons to like him even better!
