We signed 20 kids and only one, failed to have any other P5 offers. The recruiting trend under CBB and staff continues, as we are no longer over-signing because we are reaching on academically or character challenged kids. Almost all of our major recruits were locked up months in advance of signing day, with numerous players blowing up in the final weeks and staying committed to the Hogs.

Those upset by missing out on kids we may or may not have had realistic shots at should pause and think about just how far we've come in the past few years, and think about the LUXURY this staff has given us as fans, recruiting great football players who believe in the staff, system, and future so much that they commit early and don't waiver despite hearing from top 10 programs selling their snake oils down the stretch.

We may never be a program that cracks the top 10 in national rankings for our classes, but there is something to be said for being top 25 every year, with a system in place that brings in kids who can be coached up to perform at top 10 levels within 2-3 years. Over time, the results begin to speak for themself and we are on the verge of seeing that consistency and commitment pay off.

Thx for posting this. Agree with this.

Great post!

And note that some of those players probably had offers that weren't listed.  A player like Capps probably received more offers then shown, but the services stopped following him after he committed to Arkansas, because they're more interested in news for uncommitted players.

Btw, 247's class calculator was showing that Arkansas would have a top-10 class, if we'd just signed Fulton and Cleveland.  This was a few days before NSD, so unless we'd signed Porter and some others, we probably would have fallen out on NSD.  Still, it surprises me a little that we were that close.

I also think it goes to show how much difference a 5 star, or high 4 star, player makes in the rankings, because signing a couple of players like Porter wouldn't have made such a difference.  His low 4 star ranking might not have been enough for us to move up a single spot.  It's crazy how that works.

if ricky town had been in this class how much would it of helped our ranking?

Great post! You simply cannot argue with those facts and it looks like we beat out Bama on 5 of our newest Hogs. Almost all had excellent offers and yet decided to be Razorbacks. We should all be proud of these young men.

Also, take note on redeye's post and how close we were to actually signing a top 10 class. The naysayers almost had nothing to complain about today...lol

Town was a five star in some services and a four in others.  Here's an interesting comparison of Town and Rosen (starter at UCLA this past season as a true freshman).  It will give you some good insights into Town.  I actually believe Town will be our starter in 2016 but we sure have a good group of QB's to choose from.

One of the better posts I've seen on here thepigdoctor.

Also note that we didn't lose a single instate recruit.

What we're doing + a solid season and bowl, we'll get those two or three top players that we barely missed on this time. I don't doubt 2 more wins this past season would have landed them in this class.
Don't be scared, be smart.

If we can stay competitive and always play hard, sometimes the luck will fall our way and we will have a chance for a great season.

With all the coaching talent and player talent in the SEC West year in year out dominance is too much to expect.
