Diggs was all smiles in the outfield at the end of that game.
That's the biggest smile I've seen on his face in a while.
Probably feels like a boulder is off his shoulder.

Devo needs to go to Okie State and play so well it looks like we should have tried to keep him.

But if in fact Cal decided to start with a clean slate I do not blame him. He could clearly see that something was badly broken with a talented bunch of players that could not come together as a team. He doesn't have time to try to diagnose who/what the problems were and he can't risk being wrong when our boosters are all in on providing the $ to build a championship roster in year 1.

Rush Propst steps down as Pell City's head football coach

By Ben Thomas |

QuoteRush Propst has stepped down as Pell City's head football coach after just one season.

Propst told AL.com late Friday afternoon he just felt it was the right thing to do.

"It's become a distraction here," he said. "It's not good for our kids. I feel like it's the right thing to do. I'm always going to stand by my players and do the right thing for my players and, at this time, I feel this is the right time."

A special meeting of the Pell City Board of Education was called late Friday afternoon to accept Propst's resignation and the resignation of his wife Stefnie, a 12-month month (sic) secretary at the school.

On April 24 at another special called meeting, Propst survived an attempt to oust him as the team's coach when no one on the board made a motion on an action item to non-renew his contract.

A double negative

Battle played hard the whole season. He tried to put the team on his back more than once. A bit of a black hole at times, but he was also on a team where a lot of players around him were mailing it in so that is understandable.

If he wants to prepare for the NBA he should go to Gonzaga. The other options are good programs, but Mark Few is one of the best coaches in college ball and he has a proven track record of turning out polished players.

G'luck to him.

Makes me wonder if Schlossy threw his bologna against the wall hoping that it would stick, so the SEC would sanction us and he wouldn't have to play us in a couple weeks. Why else would you do something that egregiously false and defaming.
