Just thought I'd start an umbrella topic for discussion of the ongoing SEC Men's Basketball Tournament games, as there's not been individual game threads yet.

In the tournament opener, Kentucky struggled with Ole Miss, before putting them away 71-58.

IN the second game, MSU and Georgia are approaching halftime,  MSU sitting on a 34-23 lead.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

what channel on dish is the tournament being played?

Afraid I can't answer that, as I'm not watching on Dish.   I'd imagine it would be the same as the regular season Raycom games, though, as they are managing the tournament's broadcast schedule up until the Sunday final (which is on CBS, IIRC).

Looks like MSU is having it's own issues, as a game Georgia squad is keeping this from being a blowout.  45-38 MSU over Georgia, 15:35 to play.

Georgia is going to make a run, at this I think.  Down to 5

Sparse; not good for TV, as most of the on-air seats you see during game action are an empty, blue backdrop.

Always the biggest weakness of these tournaments. You just don't get good crowds. Also any place they'd reasonably have it short of, say, Memphis is a long trip for Hog fans.

I say it should be in Nashville or Birmingham every year, maybe alternating each year.

If you look at a map of the Southeast, these 2 cities are as close to central as you can get.

Nashville would make sense, if they didn't put it in Vanderbilt's barn of an arena.

Birmingham is probably the best geographically centered location, in terms of the 3 big schools for attendance (Kentucky, Arkansas, and Florida),  and would make Alabama and Auburn crowds even in down years somewhat less pathetic.

What time is the game on?

It's the last game of the day, 30 minutes after the conclusion of the Vanderbilt v .Alabama game, which is slated to tip at 7:30

SEC had the worst possible scenario for the tourney this year:  awful location plus down year for the conference plus bad economy.  KY fans travel but I'm sure their interest is even a little less than usual.  Why drive or fly that far and spend that money to see them get bounced most likely in the first or second day.

It's an embarrasment to have your conf tourney look like the Sun Belt.  It would be nice to have it in Memphis once every 5 years.  That's an easy trip for all but say FL and SC fans.  New Orleans isn't a bad trip for most either.

They should rotate it every 3 between Memphis, New Orleans, and Georgia.  They probably won't ever do anything even close to that because of Auburn.  I have always heard for the most part Auburn usually votes with the East on things.

On a lighter note I loved Raycomm's through the years at the SEC tourney.  Several clips of us losing close games.  Although I think my favorite is the 1997 Andre Patillo jobbing against Georgia.  What an *** tool.
Little known fact, but prior to settling on Guantanamo, the Pentagon wanted to house terror suspects at War Memorial Stadium.  It was deemed to be cruel and unusual punishment and in violation of the Geneva Convention.

please note that these will be the final ever Raycom broadcasts of SEC Sports

Watch in dignified memory.   The days of bad broadcasts, The 3 Daves calling the game.   the so called "B team" looked as if it was pulled off the street.  Split telecasts.   Fuzzy picture that is supposedly HD quality, and in Football, the famous purple first down line

Watch in dignified memory...not disdain

Btw, did anyone watch Louisville vs. Providence?  Louisville is a team that knows how to press and did it VERY well today, despite not having a very large bench.  Only 7 players seem to significantly break the rotation today and yet they still pressed very successfully.  Providence wasn't a bad team either, despite slumping late in the season.

OK, so I live in Monroe, LA (suppose to be SEC country) ... anyway I can not get the game anywhere on TV. Gameplan says its blacked out due to local station carrying the game but no local station is carrying it.
I can not get it on ESPN360.com because my cable company does not work with the system so what is my next option other than driving to El Dorado, Ar.? Is there another website that will carry the video broadcast???
Thanks for any help.

Wow...OSU is dismantling OU right now.  OU looks extremely rattled.  OSU's pressure is driving OU nuts.  Austin Johnson and Tony Crocker can barely get the ball across court and OSU's big guys are preventing Griffin from getting the ball.

crazy finish     ou came back, then osu got ahead, then ou.... ou by 1 and okstate's james anderson fouled with 2 seconds left, makes both fts                 then ou inbounds the ball and ou mises but the clocker never starteed haha               the refs just watched the replay and said 'ok more than 2seconeds went off, game over, osu wins!'

great to see ou go down       go cowboys!

Yeah I saw the end but hogville crapped out so I couldn't post anything.  What a wild game.  One of the best games I saw this year.  Looks like OU's achilles heel(s) is/are the press and their defense.  OU played some atrocious defense.  Even Crocker (who's their best defender) let Eaton just blow by him again and again.
