Sophomore forward Demetrius Henry is transferring out of South Carolina. The 6-foot-9 Henry started 19 of his 21 appearances for the Gamecocks last season but was suspended for the rest of the season in mid-February for conduct detrimental to the team.

A former four-star prospect in the Class of 2013, Henry also took official visits to Clemson and Rutgers during the recruiting process before committing to South Carolina during the spring of his senior year.

3. Johnathan Williams III, Missouri -- The Memphis native led the Tigers in scoring and rebounding this past season. There are restrictions on his release: He can't go to an SEC or Big 12 school and can't transfer to Illinois or Arizona. (Geographical and conference-related restrictions are common when giving a player his release; Missouri has not explained the specific restriction against Arizona, however).

4. Nick King, Memphis -- The undersized 4-man plays hard and averaged 7.2 points per game this past season as a sophomore with the Tigers.

20. Andrew Rowsey, UNC Asheville -- The second-team all-conference player averaged 19.2 points as a sophomore, shooting 38.2 percent from 3 and 92.1 percent from the free throw line. Two years remaining.

"Family, man," King told ESPN.com. "I felt it from the moment I stepped on campus. We're trying to put the basketball program on the map."

King, who visited Alabama on Thursday, averaged 7.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game during his sophomore season. He was ranked as the No. 37 prospect in the Class of 2013.

"They're trying to give me back the confidence I had in high school," King said.

With the combination of a group of returnees led by Danuel House and a highly regarded recruiting class, at the very least Texas A&M is expected to reach the NCAA tournament for the first time during Billy Kennedy's tenure as head coach. Sunday afternoon the program added another player capable of helping them, as former USF point guard Anthony Collins committed to Texas A&M.

as a graduate student Collins will be eligible immediately for the Aggies.

In his first season after missing most of the 2013-14 campaign with a knee injury, Collins started all 32 games for the Bulls and averaged 7.1 points and 5.2 assists (2.2 A/T ratio) in nearly 34 minutes of action per contest. More of a distributor than scorer, Collins shot 44.2 percent from the field and 27.6 percent from beyond the arc.

Collins is also a good perimeter defender, and his addition gives the Aggies an experienced player who can get the ball to House (and other offensive options that may emerge) in spots where they can be successful.

Alex Caruso led the Aggies in assists last season, averaging 5.5 per game, and Texas A&M also returns rising sophomores Alex Robinson and Avery Johnson Jr.

Michael Chandler has been granted his release and will transfer from Oregon after only one season... Chandler, the 6-foot-10 center, had committed to the Ducks in October of 2013. At the time, it was the fourth Division I school he had been committed to. The Indianapolis native, had previously made pledges to Louisville, Central Florida and Xavier as a member of the Class of 2011. He ended up failing to qualify academically, beginning his collegiate career at Northwest Florida State.

Former Alabama forward headed to UTPA for final season of eligibility

In four seasons as a member of the Alabama basketball program 6-foot-6 forward Dakota Slaughter didn't see a lot of playing time... With a season of eligibility remaining Slaughter decided to transfer in hopes of getting more playing time as a redshirt senior, and Friday it was announced that he'll attend UTPA.

Slaughter will be eligible to play immediately for the WAC program.
