Tennessee appears to be the class.  They took it to the Zags today in Washington.
Kentucky lost, again, at home this time to San Diego by 9.
Washington beat LSU by 8 in Baton Rouge today.

Some how Ole Miss is ranked and Vandy is undefeated.  What in the world is wrong with this picture?

Seems more like a plunge than a dip.

When you lose the conferences active winningest coach and 4  time NCAA champions from 1 team it tends to leave a void.  The SEC is ripe for the picking, though Kentucky and Florida won't be bad for long.  If we can put this thing to gether we can win the west and challenge UT for the whole thing.  Thus re-establishing our dominance in this region of the country.  But with STANLEY's players that's a big IF.
If you don't know, now you know.

"Woke" is a term made up by people who have appointed themselves as intellectually superior as a way to describe themselves in comparison with those whom they deem ignorant.

I think college basketball is going down. Doesn't seem as fun to watch to me as it used to.

That is because we are not kicking other teams butts like we did years ago. It is a lot more enjoyable when you win.

The quality of play is actually quite a bit better than it has been in years past;  college basketball is prospering from the talent infusion generated by the NBA's ban on HS players.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Memphis is my basketball team... Of course if we ever played them I'd root for the Hogs

When Pelphrey gets his guys in here but this team just makes me sick to watch for some reason

I agree that it has lost some of its luster. Now that CBB is an after thought to the NBA for most HS students, it will be one and done for the most talented. What the greedy folks in the NBA don't realize is that it hurts them as well as CBB. Without the time for the kids to develop their game in college, it will bring down the quality of the NBA game(it already has started to). For every Lebron there are five guys who will never reach their potential because they went for the cash early.

As for the SEC, it is a down year/years. Even as inconsistent as we are we could still beat most teams. Gotta bring it against Ole Miss and Vandy, and KY jelly will not just roll over for us, even though they have in the preseason. I hope that we can hold serve at home and get a couple on the road. We might not even make the NCAAT this year, but I think we will not miss too many in the future.
Sittin in the morning sun, I'll be sittin here when evening comes.

The problem with that logic is that it was 'none and done'  for the past decade, as the top prep players routinely skipped college ball altogether.   College basketball is a lot better off, now that the Kobe/LeBron/Garnett type talents have to give at least one season at the collegiate level.

I agree that the one year mandate is a step in the right direction, I just remember the old days when very few went before their sr year. I guess I am too greedy, but I think it would not be out of the question for guys to be required to be jrs, just like FB. I guess the NBA is afraid that they would miss out on some guys who just couldn't cut it in college.

No, they're afraid of being sued and losing, for tens of millions in potential lost earnings to kids who could challenge the NBA rules regarding age requirements.  As it is, their current policy might not stand up in court if challenged, though they would make the argument that limiting the rights of minors who have special legal status when entering contractual relations is a reasonable bar.

The days of the best players being 4 year seniors is gone, by and large.
