Agreed.  Bucknell was bad last year and even worse the previous year.  The Patriot League schools aren't generally known for athletics.

The Bison do have a good starting pitcher named Connor Van Hoose, who finished last season with six wins and a 2.28 ERA.  After that, the returning pitching appears very thin.  The Bison lost their only other decent starter and have no one besides Van Hoose who posted an ERA below 4.75 last season.

On offense, Bucknell lost its best three hitters and only power hitter from a squad that was weak at the plate to begin with -- 261st in the NCAA in runs scored and 244th in HRs/game.

For what it's worth, Bucknell was a narrow pick to win the Patriot League by the conference's head coaches and sports information directors, so maybe they had a good recruiting class and/or return a couple of key players from injury?  A web search of Bucknell baseball recruiting was not instructive.
