I miss the old days pre BCS when teams just went to a bowl game and then everyone spent the spring and summer arguing about which team should be number one.

Yep! I wish they did . Wouldve helped us at least advance to a super last season .
It seems we've learned since 2018 it doesn't help to get a top seed until the super regional . They like to keep teams close to home .
I'm sure Oklahoma state as the 7 overall seed was not excited to see us in Stillwater much like we didn't want tcu in our regional as a 3 overall seed .

Men's golf opened play in the NCAA regional in Austin this morning. Play currently suspended due to lightning with the Hogs in 6th place at -3 late in the round. As was the case with the women, top five will advance to nationals. We're only one shot out of the top five with a long way to go.

The sport is becoming more national enough they may could go to it sometime.  Instead we got TCU because of geography and the committee wanting to force "interesting" regional matchups.  Why we have gotten stuck with good ORU and Mo St teams over the years.  Close travel and they know the familiarity we have with each adds intensity. 

In a 64 team S seeded tournament, a 3 seed would get in their regional:
30th overall seed as the regional 2 seed
35th seed as the regional 3 seed
62nd seed as the regional 4 seed

Instead, we still get stacked regions in some cases where the committee manipulates matchups like they'll put Ole Miss or State in with a good Southern Miss team one season.  The basketball committee will do it too.  But they don't have near the leeway since they do have to seed 1-64.

Tournament should move around with 2-3 years notice. Same thing with the sec football championship game. Always in Atlanta which is BS.
