They had Jim Wacker at the helm and he was known for running the split back veer.  This game we were just way better.  They Beat us in 84.

84 IIRC was the first time in 22 years TCU beat us. Wacker was a decent coach (and a wacko) but only had TWO winning seasons there and below .500 overall while there.  Then he went to Minnesota and had a worse record. The split veer was run by a lot of teams back then.
