It was more than just gambling. Also, don't look at the wins and losses. SMU has had 4 winning seasons the last 20 years. Morris has had 1 of those.

Agreed, especially in today's atmosphere with new scandals popping up every day.....memphis wouldn't have risked it with OR extended him with their program on the rise......they would've canned him and went for someone else......the irony......they still would've ended up with a better hire than we have probably......

Because he's only had two years of experience in the AAC, and he was by far no Scott Frost........Besides, the other hires everyone has made have been HUGE......and I think Ole Miss didn't even try because of sanctions....they knew it would be hard to get and keep a coach......they got out pretty early, and Miss State, Florida, A&M, and Florida State got one of their top targets right off......Miss State's might've been a surprise, but I'm sure they've been planning for a Mullen departure for a couple of years now......

He said no to what?  He said no to Houston because of the buyout.  Was there something in our offer that made him say no?

Whatever it was, I doubt it happened while at Memphis, or he wouldn't have gotten an extension. They would have said nobody else wants you, take your $1.8 mil and be happy. If it's true that it happened at Tulsa, then I don't really care about it anyways. That was a long time ago and he was in his 20's. Guys do dumb stuff for poon in their 20's. All I know is he can coach the heck out of some football and he hasn't had any major issues pop up in his 2 years as the Memphis Head Coach.

Again why the heck are we doing this then?  Who are we trying to be?  What the heck did Long's integrity get us? 

We have to win and it is time to win at ANY cost.  We have fallen so far that we are on the brink of becoming irrelevant. 

If tomorrow the top 60 football programs were to split off would we be in that group or would we be in the pretender group.  We left the SWC and door mats like Baylor, TCU, and Texas Tech ARE better programs than us.  Its disgusting.
