I was thinking the same thing. Most of these "small schools" are much bigger than U of A. Just goes to show that perception is reality so guess.

When George Mason University made the Final Four a few years ago, one of the talking heads referred to "tiny George Mason." I about spit out my beer. GMU has about 34,000 students. I guess if you don't have a football program, you're "tiny."

I noticed this year while watching the NFL that players are being more cautious with their contact. The news is taking effect, but I really would like to see the leather helmets return and say good bye to the face-masks. I truly think it would help dissuade much of the collision force we see today. The SEC looks like a slaughter house compared to the NFL now.

Neither me nor my kid want to play football, we might get hurt or have a concussion.  Waa Waa Waa.  That's right, let the social justice warriors tell us how to play football, remove all the contact, it will be safer then.   Hell, just play soccer, that is what these wussies want anyway.

Another decade or so and this country will be run by powder puffs.

And some schools with not so large of student populations are in big name conferences. Mainly private schools though like Vanderbilt and Duke. One notable independent ND.

I watch any good college football game over volleyball or gymnastics. Look forward to sec bowls which all seem to be on new year, wishing they were more spread out. Could somebody share with me the modern name of the Cotton Bowl??? I am old and the new names hide the superiority of the bowls from me. Thanks in advance!
