I've watched Purdue, they'll eat us alive in the paint. Haas is a strong post player
Razorbacks | Redskins | Pelicans | LA Tech

RazorSax

I think we match up well with them. I say we get past Butler, we make Sweet 16, and then have a close one with Texas Tech.

whatever, I would rather play Purdue in game 2 than Michigan State, and they are a worse seed. If we shoot well in the tourney, we can make sweet 16. Shoot poorly we could lose game 1. Cant wait to watch!

Baconomics

Hey, I'm a Razorback fan, but as soon as I saw my team's entire season of work pay off with a chance to play in the NCAAT for a chance at the title, I ran to the message board to post their imminent demise because that's what fans do.  No, wait... that's not right.

I've watched Purdue all year (and the last several years). They're my second team. I've been a fan since I lived in West Lafayette, IN a few years ago. Firstly, dude's name is Haas. I ran into him at Wal-Mart. He is HUGE! However, he doesn't have good hands. Also, his offensive moves are lacking. However, Carsen Edwards is the real deal. He reminds me of a tougher Jaylen Barford. Purdue has shooters like I've never seen. It (potentially) will be a fun watch.

King Kong

Probably the one match up where losing Dustin Thomas hurts us

TNhawgfan

Purdue is not as good as Tennessee. We can beat them IF we shoot the 3s well
I'd rather be dead than be a Vol

Purdue will be like the TN game yesterday.
I don't want you to agree with me because you're weak. I want you to agree with me because you know I'm right.

We have to beat Butler first.  Also, Purdue has to beat Cal State Fullerton.

A little more...Dakota Mathias gets a lot of press due to his shooting, but he's one of the best on the ball defenders in the Big10. One thing I've noticed in their losses is their dependency on the three. I mentioned earlier that they're one of the best shooting teams in the country, but when they're cold, they get REAL cold. Also, they're not too deep.
Their strategy...force the ball down low early on to Haas and establish the inside game. When/if the double team comes, Haas will kick it out to the shooters. If it gets to Carsen Edwards or Vince Edwards (a nice swingman), they'll look to drive. If it's Mathias or PJ Thompson, they're shooting. Rinse and repeat.

Great, ugh....what about quickness and depth?

I dont see the big gripe. Everybody wanted out of the 8/9...done.  Everybody wanted to avoid a UNC or Duke in North Carolina...done.  There is a great chance to play well and make the Sweet 16.  I think everyone should be happy.  Do the Hogs have to play very well to do it..Oh Yes. But you have to play well to beat any of these teams in the tourney.

GoHogs1091

Purdue is probably the strongest 2 seed in the entire tournament.

We did not get a good draw.

You may be right, but you also said we would play 2 games in the SECT if we were lucky.  May this prediction be of equal quality.

Obviously Purdue is going to be tough and favored against us. They didn't earn a 2 seed by installing dishwashers.

We are winning 4 games in the tournament regardless.

This is probably as good a draw as you can get as a 7.

No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

On my money bracket, I won't have Arkansas in the Sweet 16.  However, I am coming back home in a couple weeks and I'm dying to see the a NCAA Arkansas game with my family and friends.  I'm hoping as hard as humanly possible and will be crushed if we lose in the 1st or 2nd round.

However, in money bracket at work, I will probably have Arkansas losing to Purdue.

Purdue is not very deep. They have a freshman big coming off the bench, Matt Haarms, from the Netherlands. He's a 7-3 long lanky shot blocker, without much of an offensive game. Ryan Cline is a spot shooter who will be the first guard off the bench and Nojel Eastern is a small forward that reminds me of Osabuohien, but a little more active.

Purdue is good-real good. But I'm an Arkansas fan. If I were a die hard Purdue fan, I'd be worried about Arkansas's defense. Purdue is definitely a half court team. Their ball movement is efficient and even hypnotic. If Arkansas can push the tempo and force Purdue to make quick decisions, the Hogs could win. Of course, both teams have to make it to the 2nd round first.

This. I would have loved to have been sent closer to home, Dallas or Nashville, but we have a good draw. As good as a team can hope for as a 7 seed. The only thing is Purdue and Butler will have a lot of fans, not that far from IN to Detroit. Just maybe fit everyone with bullet-proof vests..

This season Purdue lost to Tennessee by 3 points.

We just lost to Tennessee by 18 points.

I do agree though that Purdue is not quite as good as Tennessee, but Tennessee had a tough game against Purdue.

We also beat Tenner in a  game that they didn't shoot 86% from the field at halftime. They very well might've won had they not shot that well still, but pointing out the score differential in the best outing of their season is silly.
Did they get you to trade a walk on part in the war, for a lead role in a cage...?

Let's not forget Arkansas was playing it's 3rd game in 3 days, while TN was playing its 2nd.  Huge difference.  Hogs beat the Vols earlier in the year.  Should be a great game- assuming the Hogs get past Butler.

Rawker

Can't believe all this Purdue talk.  Look, I'm a bigger CMA fan than 98% of you, but this team, and ANY #7 seed, has to have a good bit of luck and some excellent play to beat ANY #10, much less an under-seeded (IMO) Butler team.  We will be very lucky to be able to continue the Purdue talk in less than a week.  If the team that played Houston, TN the second time, Auburn the first time, and LSU BOTH tmes shows up, it'll be as boring and as disappointing as any of those.  If the GOOD Hogs show up, we'll win by 1-3 points at best.  If they do lose, the sky is not falling on me.  I think the stock will fall a bit next year (obviously with 6 seniors going), but I had another fun year watching the Hogs and I'm digging where it's going (watched I. Joe play a couple times this year, and I can't wait to watch him as a Hog).
