The game vs. OU has been set for 4 PM Central on Thanksgiving - smack dab in the middle of the Dallas Cowboys' annual Turkey Day game (vs. Chargers this year).

And - if we win - we will get a rematch with N. Carolina (almost certainly) that will be played at the same time our football team is hosting Mizzou in our final home game of the season.

Thanks a lot, ESPN, for taking our schedule into consideration when setting up times for the tournament.

pro sports are trash and i only care if my fantasy team makes the playoffs.

Kinda bummed about the NC game if we win, but if we win ill prob care more about us getting revenge then beating the frank out of misery tigers for payback of last year.

If the South should lose, it means that the history of the heroic struggle will be written by the enemy, that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers, will be impressed by all of the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

Easy solution to both conflicts - two TVs   ;D

Easier solution - DVR!

And that's probably what I'll do.  But I'd much rather watch one live, and then watch the other live a couple of hours later.  However much I try, it will be hard to not know the result of the game I record before I watch it, since I usually go to watch parties and there's always SOMEONE who can't respect the fact that some of us want to watch the game without knowing the outcome and will shout out updates.

Last I checked, the Cowboys have nothing to do with our football team or basketball team.

No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

Boss Hog in the Arkansas

I have no problem skipping the cowboys game to see the hogs destroy OU, but the Mizzou game is senior night. I wouldn't miss my brothers final game in DWR for anything in the world

Maybe they should have checked with you to see when you were serving turkey to schedule games.

So lets see, you are having a hard time choosing between the most overrated pro sports franchise of all time, and a Hog bball game.

I guess there are two points.  Though I am aware there are a lot of our fans who follow other teams and/or do NOT like Dallas, I also know that Dallas is probably the favorite NFL team of more of our fans than any other team.  And I know a LOT of families for whom it is traditional to eat Thanksgiving dinner and then sit down and watch the Dallas game (because it is the only football game on that afternoon).  Keep in mind that family get-togethers are often comprised of fans for many different teams (through marriage).  So, it's not necessarily as easy to get the TV turned to an Arkansas basketball game on that afternoon, depending on who you're with and who's house you're at.

Secondarily, I think that any basketball game opposite the Cowboys on Thanksgiving will get virtually no "tune-in" watchers - as in, exposure for our program.

Am I happy we're on TV - sure!  I just feel like we got the worst time slots of all the teams involved, when you factor in the Cowboy "black hole", and then that we are likely to be playing at the same time as our football game on Day 2.

But, I'd agree I've had "worse news".  The game are available to watch; that's the main thing.

You can always watch either game's replay, Hogs BB or FB games, on WatchESPN. You don't even have to DVR them. The replays will be available online immediately after they end.

Are you contending ESPN did it on purpose? Now what they very well may have done was schedule what game they felt would raw the fewest viewers anyway, and put it on opposite the NFL game. And then the Friday games they want a game that can draw ok against the football games that are on. It may just happen that the Hogs BBall team will be in both of those games.

This is the exact kind of Dallas-centric thinking that drives everyone else absolutely nuts, and makes everyone who has to live around Cowboys fans understand how abominable their fans are.

Cowboys fans , at *best* represent the largest plurality of our fan base when it translates to the NFL-- but they do not constitute a majority, or even a very large plurality.   Having 22% to a Chiefs 17% isn't that impressive, especially when Chiefs fans aren't raging *******s about it 24/7/365.

No.  Just stating that they did us no favors (scheduling-wise).

But I'm not a subscriber to the "ESPN hates Arkansas" conspiracy theories.

I get the fact that many people don't like Dallas; or, at least, are not "fans" of theirs.

The thing is, that's the ONLY NFL game on at that time.  It's Thanksgiving.  A lot of people just watch that game every year after they eat their Thanksgiving dinner.

If you're over at your wife's Uncle's house (or wherever family is congregating) and they are not Hog fans (an issue for more of us out of state than in), then it may not be easy to get the Arkansas basketball game on the TV instead of the Cowboy NFL game.  Won't be an issue for me - but may be for some, just because it's Thanksgiving.

I feel sorry for UNC if we play them. A lot of frustration will be taken out on them.  I know the players and staff want that game so bad. I hope we don't look too far ahead and get beat by OU
