Houston Nutt of the BCS Bowls

NEVER use Houston Nutt and BCS Bowl in the same sentence again!

Fire Bob Stoops!! Come on Boomers, you should not have to put up with that kind of mediocrity.  You know you're better than that.
Advice for reading posts on Hogville:  Think about how stupid the average person is.  Then, remember that half of the people are more stupid than that.  So relax and take it easy on 'em.

+1buddy that was funny.

no comparison to the U of A or to Houston were trying to be implied.  I just wonder why he can get his teams up for the Big 12 championship games but not the bowls?  Is it that big of a competitive difference?

hogman64

one of the dumbest combination coaching decision ever by Stoops tonight.. 15 -20 in the third Q  Okla had just regained the momentum.....and after the touchdown he goes for two misses, tries an onside kick, losses it , WV scores in about a minute , momentum lost , game lost......Stoops can recruit......but I dont know about coach,, just sayin'

Swinehart

The thing I don't like about it is when we tell everyone how we whipped the # 1 team in the Orange Bowl in 1978 - everybody now says; so what - OK never wins any bowl games.

RZRBK32

played  for as many nc as your beloved hdn has west titles.

friendian69

LMAO!! Anytime OK loses is a good day; especially when Stoops is behind the wheel.  GO HOGS

Play someone worth a shi* outside of the big 12 for a change... Most over rated football team there is. If Sooners played some SEC teams they would not make it to BCS games. Stoops was out coached last night by a 2nd string coach. He looked like Nutty calling plays last night.

Why not?  That's the closest those two will ever get to each other.

Let's see, 5 conference championships and a National Title in 9 years.  Heck I would take it any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Here are some of the teams that Oklahoma has played in the past 6 years out of conference:
Miami
Washington
Oregon
UCLA
Alabama

If you live in the Fort Smith area, where about 30% of our workforce sneaks across the border from {Oklahomo}. You have to listen to the trash talking Okies from Aug till Jan you have to love it when they make excuses for a bowl loss. ;D

gohogsgo1234

Lets see. 2007  N texas... Miami (no bowl this year) Iowa St. and dont forget Tulsa which had how many yards against OU??? almost 600..   Thats a pretty tuff schedule....

As compared to say, Troy, North Texas, Tennessee Chattanooga, and Florida International?

Iowa State is in the Big 12 BTW.

5-7   Miami
5-7   Washington
7-6   Oregon
10-2 UCLA (oh....and UCLA's 2 losses: 52-14 to Arizona & 66-19 by USC)
4-9   Bama

Not exactly powerhouses when they played them either.

Okay, so Oklahoma's schedule should look like this every year?

LSU
Ohio State
Florida State
Virginia Tech
Texas
Texas A&M
Baylor
Texas Tech
Oklahoma State
Nebraska
Colorado
Missouri

Is that what everyone is saying?

How do you not live in the past?  Are we supposed to look into the future?  They won a conference title and went to a BCS bowl THIS YEAR!!!

I'm just giving you a hard time. I spent some time in Dallas a couple of weeks ago and listened to a bunch of OU fans going on and on about how they should have been in the title game over LSU.

OU is a very good program, but they only have to get up once or twice a year to win their conference.

Now that is just rediculous.  I mean look at the teams LSU had to play and then compare to OU.  Those OU fans are delusional.  LSU deserves to be in the NCG.

I was depressed abpout Arkansas' loss until last night's Sooner debacle.

(In my finest hillbilly verbage...) I shore does love seeing me some stompage of 'dem Sooners.

Guys if you don't live in the Ft. Smith area you have no idea what arrogant a-holes OU fans from eastern Ok. are. So anytime they lose, and quit running their mouth, you gotta love it. That being said, I am looking forward to the time when we are good enough to go to 4 BCS bowls.WPS and go BP.

After the botched onside kick, WVU drove to the OU 16 yard line and the next SEVEN plays were:

• Noel Devine's 16-yard touchdown run;
• Devine's 3-yard run;
• Pat White's 42-yard run;
• Darius Reynaud's 30-yard TD run off a reverse;
• White's 79-yard scoring pass to Tito Gonzales;
• White's 5-yard run;
• Devine's 66-yard TD run.

241 yards and count'em 4 TD's on 7 plays!!

That's pretty astounding!

And I thought Oklahoma would be bringing their defense to the Fiesta Bowl!

Surely the Sooner faithful are starting to feel some unrest.

It may be wrong, but I took great pleasure in watching WVU dismantle OU. I wonder if Bob still thinks he has the #1 team in the land.

I live in Fort Smith and I'll never understand all the hate for all things Oklahoma from some Hog fans.  I have never been berated for wearing Hog gear or lambasted for being a Razorback fan by anyone from "across the border."

All these venomous posts against Oklahoma, and their lack of January productivity makes some of you seem jealous of OU's past success.

larryas13

I WILL SAY THIS TO THE OU FANS THAT THINK THEY SHOULD BE IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME,AS BAD AS I DO NOT LIKE USC YA,LL WOULD NOT MAKE A MOLE ON THEIR RECTUM. USC LOOKS BETTER THAN LSU AT THIS POINT. LOVE  :razorback:

1 you are real lucky
or
2 you don't get out much
or
3 you haven't lived here very long. ???

EnemyOfMojo

Say what you want to about 'Klahoma, but A.) They get to the BCS bowls and B.) They beat the team that drummed the living hell out of us the other day, and they did it twice this year.

wooly

Who else thought of Reggie Fish when their punt returner started running back to field that punt?

He wasn't inside the 10, but it amazes me when guys try to catch punts over their shoulder like that.

biggiepiggie

Now you won't have to listen to any OU fans complaining that they should
have been in the NC game.  How are Illinois, OU and Arkansas alike?  They
all got stomped in the bowl game.  How are they different?  Arkansas wasn't
ranked in the top ten.  Wasn't even ranked in the top 25 in the BCS.

dougieritch

I'm not a Bob Stoops fan, however he is a great coach and I'll give him credit, when he is outplayed or outcoached, he'll come out and say it right after the game and congratulate the other team...a far cry from what we are use to...Nutty (The Excuse O'Matic).

I'm 50/50 on going to 4 straight BCS games and losing, that would be tuff...however at least one of them was for the NC.

Booming Sooners
What have you done for me lately? In Oklahoma's case, plenty. This is one of the hottest programs in all of sports. Oklahoma has played in three national championship games over the last seven seasons, owns four Big 12 Championships during that time and the most recently graduated senior class played in all four of the BCS bowl games.

Hell we haven't done darn except talk a good game since the 60's except for a few exception years. Nuff said, like the old saying goes when you have nothing good to say about your team you bash the neighboring states team that actually puts out a quality product year in and year out.
