I think he is saying that it is sad people are not smart enough to read before they post.

Actually, I think what he's saying is ... LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!

actually i was saying, i am telling you and you aren't listening

Like I said, LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!
Can you say, "narcissistic personality"?

You do know that your post count does not go up any faster for starting new posts don't you?

Hmmmm, sequence of events?

1.  Arkansas contacts Gillespie (informally, of course) and gets the nod
2.  Tubby bolts from KY
3.  Arkansas doesn't check with Gillespie again before canning Stan
4.  Someone at KY makes inquiry of Gillespie (this may be #3 and #3 may be #4, come to think of it) and says he's second choice after Donovan.  Gillespie says he can live with that, becoming Plan B.
5.  Arkansas finds out Gillespie isn't coming here.
6.  Florida wins championship and then Donovan is contacted
7.  Donovan says "no" and the same day, Plan B is executed.

Did I miss anything that MAY have happened?

Well to my knowledge Gillespie hasn't made it to the Elite 8, and Bobby Knight hasn't been in so long I'm not sure he knows what that is anymore.

they are delusional on that board talking about Tim Floyd and other coaches.  They had two decent years, NOT GREAT, and they think they can land a top name coach.....

Really, aTm is not a basketball paradise.  It will drop off the map after Billy leaves.

NXNW

razor-trac

What are they going to do with that sweet indoor basketball place? I hear it is even nicer than some boys club gyms.

The funniest thing from txags was their campaign to get 10k people to show up for a support-the-coach rally. They rarely had 10k show up for a game! And they thought 10k would show up to "yell" at a coach for no apparent reason?

The most optimistic news report estimated "almost 200" people showed up for the save the Gilespie campaign.

Priceless.

BG played all this perfect.  It almost seems that he knew the sequence of things before they happened.  He used the Arkansas offer to drive up his price at A&M, but he already knew that it would lead to him getting a higher offer from Kentucky, because why in the world would Donovan leave the Gators.  KY has nothing to offer Donovan he can't get in Florida.  It's genius.  Houston might want to contact his agent.

The Aggie beat writer for the Houston paper puts the KY search together nicely...

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/4692763.html
Says that A&M bumped him up to $1.75 million, and one would assume Kentucky will pay him more than that.

Why on earth did we think we could get him for $1.5 million? I guess we just don't have as much to spend as some of these other programs.

hawaiianhogster

I read that Kentucky is looking at him yet he hasn't said he is leaving yet. But if he doesn't he must be messed up in the head.

pbjones81

I hope Gillispie fails miserably at UK.

Sour grape?  You bet I am... but at least I wont lie about it.

Very overrated coach,  Kentucky will be sorry in the future.  I'm glad that they are stuck with him

arkrzrbacks

Don't laugh at the Ag's too hard. They might find a top notch coach before we do.

PowderedToastMan

I wonder if he'll get booed next time UK visits BWA.
WOOOOOOOO PIG SOOIE!!!

Dugann

got to lub it. OH damn aggie fan I'm sorry.
1.  We get a chance to kick BG in the Nutts every year a time or two.
2.  ROFL at aggie fans just got to lub it.
3.  Grant and  Calipari are still out there.
4.  HDN has a chance to get fired today....oh damn sorry had to slip that one in.

I'm making this official.

I NOW HATE KENTUCKY!!

HATE RANKING

1.  LSU in everything
2.  Kentucky basketball
3.  Dallas Cowboys
4.  Texas Longhorns

Is Kentucky on the schedule next year?
When I die, I want to go peacefully in my sleep just like my grandfather, and not like the screaming passengers in his car!

razorhead69

YES Ky is on the schedule I believe at KY.

missippihog

If this is true and he duped us into firing SH with the promise he was coming then changed his mind, I hope he is a total failure at UK and they run his Busch league AZZ out of town in a few years.

Ditto!!! I hope that "dream job" eats him up and spits him out, and UK fans curse the day Tubby exited.

discombobulationist

Excellent!!! Now I have someone that I can truly loathe as an SEC coach in basketball(I guess I've already got Les Miles(sp?) in football). And those aggies that were on here before just had their hearts ripped out. What a glorious day!

ISIS could be overrunning your city and Rick would talk about how nice it is to have new neighbors.

AnthroHog

What do you think the chances that Gillispie stays at Kentucky for seven years?  This is the first time that he's coached at a hardcore basketball school.  Are the Kentucky fans disappointed they didn't get someone that has more tournament success?

jtownfan

I think he pulled the wool over our eyes and we might want to think about calling SH. Down with KY!!!!  I hope they fail miserably

Mister_BS

If Tubby didn't leave Kentucky, Frank would've had Gillispie and all would be well in Hogland ...
