I'm going to be changing jobs and look to be in and around Little Rock/Bryant more than I will be home.  The guy at Eagle Hill gave me a free round to use one day to check it out.  Hurricane looks to be replacing their bent grass greens and course looks good passing by.  Anybody played them and what do you think about them?  One a lot more busy than the other?  I have a daughter that likes to go out and play four or five holes then ride in the cart, pull the flag, etc. So, don't want to drop $75 or more every week then pay for me 1 or 2 afternoons on top of that at a "public" course.

My understanding is that you can play any Lindsey course for a cart fee if you are a member at another.

Haven't played either in a while, but both are pretty nice.
Eagle Hill is longer and quite the challenge if playing longer tees. It has that kind of length.
Hurricane is fun; it's almost two different nines as one 9 weaves in between all the apartments(blah) but the other 9 goes back into the country alongside Hurricane Creek and some pretty holes.
If you forced me to pick one, I'd probably say Eagle Hill.
I've never been a Lindsey member, but I've heard about reciprocity.

I'd pick Hurricane, I think. They are moving to champ bermuda, which EH did back around 2010. And yes, they are both Lindsey you can play all Lindsey courses for cart fee.

Played Eagle Hill this week.  Good enough layout and greens were in really good shape but a touch slower than where ive been playing.  But, the course was really dried out and they weren't using their fairway water to water.  Still in good shape and really enjoyed the round but just wondered why they wouldn't be watering some?  About an 1" of water a week will work wonders with bermuda fairways.

I'd pick whichever is closer, but I like Hurricane better.

When I lived in Bryant (about 10 mins from Hurricane), I joined Eagle Hill and played it 3 or 4 times a week.  Eagle Hill will have you using just about every club in the bag, and varies in how much room you really have off the tee.  Hurricane gets tight throughout, for the most part.

Also, Eagle Hill has Par 3's of varying lengths.  At Hurricane, it seemed there was an odd mix of long Par 3's and short Par 4's.  Eagle Hill also has a real driving range and a better short game area, while Hurricane has a water range and an oddly-shaped putting green.

I also never had trouble getting on at Eagle Hill, even if working in an unexpected round after work.  Hurricane felt crowded, but that could also be because of how cramped that course has always felt to me.

My advice... Eagle Hill is the better golf course, but Hurricane would be the better family experience if the pool and social calendar matter more.

We had 5 and 6 somes that wouldn't let us play through at Eagle Hill with several open holes in front of those two groups.  Frustrating.

Golf has many unwritten rules like baseball, you are allowed to hit in to them at this point.  I thought?

Only if you are bigger than them or have the faster cart. lol

Never had that problem while I was there, but that would have been frustrating, for sure.

May not be best to reveal but I have before.  Had 8 guys in front of us a few years ago, I flew their carts followed by my 3 playing partners.  We all just killed our drives because we had something to aim at I guess but carried them by at least 50 yards.  We went on around and one guy said "you can't do that!  My buddy looks at him with a straight face and says in his best Will Ferrell "That just happened".  I almost fell out of the cart laughing.  They told on us but pro laughed at them and reminded them that only foursomes or less on the weekends.

I normally would never think of it unless guys are being total tools because what can happen.  My buddy teed of at Burns one time and after he hit, a guy just runs his cart out across our fairway.  The ball is almost center cut in our fairway but hits the guy crossing ours right in the jaw.  Nothing that could be done and wasn't my friend's fault but still horrible thing to see.

Was at a junior tournament quite a few years back in Waco, TX.  Kid in the group behind us busts a tee shot down the pipe, only to have maintenance worker drive his cart across the fairway.  Hits the cart on the bumper and shoots off into the rough.  I thought I was about to watch a kid's dad murder a man at 10am in public.

Not sure of the rule but wasn't the kid entitled to replay the shot due to influences of "outside" agencies?

I'm sure I could find such an answer in my USGA rules book but he would for sure in our Harbor Oaks game.

I love Eagle Hill's layout, but it's never going to get the attention relative to Hurricane b/c of Hurricane's membership being a lot stronger.    They have better "club" atmosphere whereas EH is kinda like Rebsamen with more bullets.

Yeah, Eagle Hill is not in the best area for sure.
