May be a bad omen for the game, but stuff like this happens.  Basically can be a point of emphasis for the team.  Sh** happens that is out of your control, you can either dwell on it or don't worry about it and just go about your business. 

The more adversity they face on the trip (not including injuries) the better prepared they will be for the long grind of the college basketball season. 
Little known fact, but prior to settling on Guantanamo, the Pentagon wanted to house terror suspects at War Memorial Stadium.  It was deemed to be cruel and unusual punishment and in violation of the Geneva Convention.
