No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

In an era where there are over $70 trillion in future obligations, beyond the debt,   taking up practices in budgeting that are tantamount to saying 'And then in 2040, a magic dragon will sh*tpoopy $100 trillion and fix our problems'  simply isn't wise. --ErieHog

Welcome to the darkside.  May the force also be strong in you.
"That's why you want something a little different", says Nutt entering his 9th season on the hill.
"You look at Florida last year," Nutt says.  "They struggled with their offense because of change...overhaul change.  Change is hard."

Weakling :D

I think my perspective is a little different than the typical Darksider, Tobs.  My objections aren't with the results on the field [which I still believe are better than what our rate of return should be], so much as with the off the field conduct of the staff, its leadership, and the Athletic Department as a whole when it comes to the program.

No BCS Bowl Games.
No SEC Championships.

2-5 in bowl games.
0-2 in SECCG.

How many times do we need to post this stuff?

Me too.  I am a longtime neutral, now darksider.  I started listening more to the darksiders case the last couple of months, and this is the final straw for me.

For most darksiders, our position is that HDN is not a truthful person.  We are sickened by the holier than thou attitude.  We have seen through the facade.  We have always thought that we fans were being fed a line of BS for a long time.

The press has just exposed a recent example of the lies, cover-up and etc.  It's time to see it and stand where you choose.

This has probably been discussed many times but seeing how many more are coming today.

Seems to me like we are the rebellion. And nutt and broyles are the darkside. but whatever the case we just lost a great part of the force. sad day in the universe.

I keep trying to be neutral, but this Athletic Dept will not let me. I want to find good in anyone, but they are making it too hard for me. If they get David Lee and he runs a balanced offense they might can get me back, but for now count me very dark.
Sittin in the morning sun, I'll be sittin here when evening comes.

You know, I'm still of the belief that Houston is a better coach than people give him credit for;  I believe sincerely that he's in a horrible position in large part due to JFB; where I personally fault HDN is in his overwhelming tendency to take the easy way out.

He doesn't stand up to Broyles; he doesn't defend his assistants; he's overly loyal to the people who helped him along his way.
I wish HDN would come out tomorrow, and expose the entire story inside the BAC.  If he did that, I would be entirely comfortable with him at the helm.  Of course, I believe that JFB would fire him, but at least one of the people inside could show what's wrong with the program, intimately.

Mark me down as part of the rebellion, no longer neutral.   I spent a long time in neutral hoping things would get better but now there is no way I will believe the lies coming out of the hill and HDN/JFB until these two are gone.

I am a longtime darksider, and if he did that, I'd be right with you.  Most of us, even long-timers, would accept that from HDN.  But the truth is, you are either part of the solution or you're part of the problem.

I was pretty happy when we got to 10-1 this season because I thought we had turned a corner with Gus at the helm.  Then I jumped off the Nutt bandwagon after LSU and the Casey Dick debacle.

With today's news, I'm now a full-on darksider.  There needs to be a house-cleaning from the top down, and my only hope is that Gus' departure is the kind of news that will force John Q. Hogfan to question the administration en masse.

But for now, I'm just sick.

Not even going to ask how you know about HDN's "lower anatomy"

That's part of the problem, though; I don't expect our season to fall apart.  I expect 8-10 wins, no matter what happens; the coaches are good enough; the essence of the problem is structural.

I hate to not support players like DMac and Felix but this has got to stop. I thought it was possible for Nutt to come around but I am done lying to myself. I'm done until Nutt is done.

I'd like to see what's happening on the "other" board.  How are Dale's goons spinning this?

Nashville Fan

Welcome Erie - I came to the conclusion this season that the Boise State player summed up HDN the best "Used Car Salesman". No matter how good of a coach he is, he will never be able to overcome this with the fans. Lame Duck Coach IMO.

Our first 10 win season EVER under the guidance of Houston Nutt.   Honestly we should have been 8-6 this year but the kicking gods smiled on us and cursed our opponents on 4 different field goal kicks (all very makeable).

Anyways, Im amazed to find someone who still supports Houston Nutt after 9 years of literally not getting it done.    I suppose its all a matter of expectations.

I'm not saying I'm a supporter, just not someone calling for him to be fired just yet.  But like I've said before, I wouldn't lose any sleep if he decided to leave.  I just don't think that you can fire someone that had a 10 win season (whether 10 wins means what it used to or not) and expect to get a good coach as a replacement.

Just like you will never get good assistants to come here as long as Frank and Houston are here.  By the way, also just like you will not get any recievers or quarterbacks worth a crap to come after this thing. Gus was very, very smart for leaving.
