At least per perfect game, next year's recruiting rankings  seem to be lower than we've had in a while. Doesn't mean it's not a good class. Obviously what happens with the draft Will change things. Tennessee and LSU seem to be killing it. Not sure how much NIL is affecting all of this.

Quote from: HognitiveDissonance on Today at 12:44:44 amJust do away with the game threads. They are so retarded.

Just post the FINAL SCORE and THEN analyze or comment to heart's content. Fine.

Having something that encourages how the season outlook changes pitch by pitch is just beyond stupid. My gasket is flabbered. It's just encouraging idiocy. Enough already!

Don't need to do away with the game threads. The first 6 or 8 pages is exactly why. Every one of the idiots that posted something stupid would be starting a new topic titled "This season is over" or "We need to fire the hitting/pitching coach".
Pretty soon you would have to go to page 2 or 3 just to see any actual discussion or news.

Quote from: 12247 on Yesterday at 09:14:27 pmI had to leave the game on page 6 and go do some work.  I returned after the game was completed and picked back up on page 6.  So glad we won.  Looked mighty iffy back on page 6.  No one really mentioned it but seems to me what happened is that the M. St. bullpen run out of good pitching and yes we begin to hit the damn ball at the very same time our bullpen went to work and stopped their hitters.  I would love to believe our hitting greatly improved today the last half of this game but I believe some of that was the State pitching fell off.  No matter, a game like this surely will put confidence back in the minds of several hitters and the bullpen pitchers can be proud of what they did today.  Somehow, someway, we shut them out for 7 of the 9 innings I believe and for sure the last 6 innings of the game.  I wish to think both bullpens, theirs for failing big time and ours for saving this day, this weekend and maybe our entire season.  Let the record show that Arkansas went down 6-0 on day 3 with the series on the line and came back through their bullpen and some timely hitting and won the game.  What a day for crows.  The positrons were crowing about how positive and correct they were and negative folks were handed crow to swallow in bushel baskets.  The crows were the big winners today.

We have made so many opposing pitchers look like Hagen Smith this season. Hitting less-than-stellar pitching is what the college game is all about. Most teams will have one ace and a closer, and after that it gets real iffy. Once you get to Sunday it is all about what is left in the bullpen, and taking advantage of the opponent's weaknesses. This series felt like the first time we did that all SEC play.

Quote from: GolfNut57 on Yesterday at 09:06:21 amI don't know what this may end up doing to my lifestyle or what changes I may have to make but I just spent two days in the NLR Baptist Springhill Hospital on Friday and Saturday. I was doing yard work early Friday morning around 8:30 when out of nowhere my right eye totally lost vision in it. An ambulance was called due to the thinking that I might be on the verge of a stroke. CT and MRI scans were done and no brain bleeds or anything serious of that nature were found. But the neurologist on duty seemed to think I might have gotten a blood clot lodged somewhere in the retina near or even in the Optic nerve. The condition is known as "Amaurosis fugax", a transient loss off vision in one or both eyes.

The Dr said normally this issue can clear itself up within a few hours but in my case it is still going on as of right now. I will have to call a Neuro Opthamologist first thing Monday morning to see what they can do to possibly get my vision back to normal in my right eye. No idea if this means my golfing days are over with or if I can even still be able to drive my car. I am pretty sure there are drivers out there that are blind in one eye but no idea if they have certain restrictions about when they can drive. I do know that while this condition exist there is going to be some big adjustments in the way I do things. For all intents and purposes life has thrown me a huge hurdle. My job now is to see if I can get over or around it. I do know one thing that changes with people blind in one eye is their depth perception changes. Can I still hit a golf ball with that? Guess we will find out eventually. Even if I can I have the feeling that my game is going to suffer bigtime. Likely with the putter.  :(
Likely NOT will it be permanent. I was 25 years old and I bent over to mark my golf ball on the 17th green at Magnolia, AR CC and I noticed a green spot in my field of vision in my right eye. I was scared as I've ever been. Golf, besides my wife and children was my everything. Long story short, I had a brain scan which revealed no cancer nor blood clots which was a relief but not the end to the problem. The Ophthamologist treating me said if the green dot in my field of vision didn't gradually lighten up and begin to move out of my vision it the bleed would likely be permanent. Well, a month later the bleed had lightened up considerably and moved out of my field of vision. Many prayers were sent up to Christ, the greatest physician of all and He watched over me over 40 years ago. I will pray for you, my brother. Hope all turns out well.  pfa
