Signed for $150,000, slot was $165,000.

Good for him!  Glad to see him get some coin

Concerning Schlesener, I just don't see the Cards having the money to sign him unless he wants like 200K.  Their first three picks have all signed and they had to go about 500K to get that done.  The 10th round selection won't be cheap either.

The kid I coached, 66th overall for Cardinals, signed for 1.2 M.  About 250K above his slot.  Was a Vandy signee, so one down for them!  Great kid and I'm very proud of him. (Bryce Denton).

This is an extremely bold move by Funkhouser.  Sure, the Dodgers weren't going to be able to give him much more than slot, but Funkhouser went from top 5 pick to 36th overall because he didn't impress scouts all that much.  Given the insane depth of the 2016 pitching class in college (in SEC - Puk, Jackson, Serrano, Shore, Sheffield, Stone (TJ), Crowe (TJ)), I think Funkhouser made a terrible decision to return to school.
