I will freely admit that I thought us getting run ruled was a distinct possibility because there were runners at the corners with no outs or maybe 1 out. I figured it would be at least 7-0 before we could bat again and hey, remember, Miss Stake was torching the ball. Hitting doubles not just weak singles. I don't like to think we might get run ruled but State looked like they were hitting on all cylinders and we simply were not.

But I'm so glad it turned around. All credit to the kids. They never laid down. They never do. Very proud of them and so glad I was wrong about how this game was going to turn out.

I think our team grew up a bit this weekend. We know our pitching will straighten itself out and we found some clutch hitters. Still aren't there yet but a real shot in the arm for our confidence.

Yeah I don't recall ever hearing of that happening. It's essentially the same as if he went to second on the walk and kept going to third and was thrown out.

For those that may have any questions about our nemesis behind the plate....I listened to our radio broadcast while watching the game and they gave him an A+ for his calls today.  They said he may have missed one call.

Oh my goodness, Ms St had an on base % of .515 for the game and left 12 men on. Kudos to our relievers for constantly pitching out of jams after the third.
