I know it's just summer league, but I think Portis, barring injury, is going have a long productive career.

HE went right at Towns it was impressive. Especially considering Town has him by 30lbs

I cant help but think about what the 2015 season could have been.

3/4 from NBA three is impressive. He looks like he's even better than he was just a few months ago. Think a lot of teams are gonna regret not taking him.

Big Nasty 34

I didn't see much but his shot looks much smoother already.

Chicago is going to love Portis the player and the person.
Seems like a good fit on and off the floor.

Looked good going against the #1 pick in the draft.

Yes he did.

Mad because I couldn't get the game. Thanks for the video. Can't wait til the next game.

Was hoping to see the highlights on sportscenter but I guess they forgot there was more than one player in the game. Gah it's un real. I like Towns but I have no respect for UK or Calipari and that really just chapped my A**!  For those confused, the only highlights where of Karl Towns and he is a great player but come on, it's a team game and show some others that have a good performance.

So much heart;

America is obsessed with Athletes, but Bobby Portis is a basketball player.

Didn't get to see the game thanks for the highlights! Man, he looks confident and comfortable out there. We know from the beatdown ISU gave us that hoiberg can coach. Bobby is going to make a lot of teams disappointed they didn't take him first.

Glass half empty...Glass half full...

Do not underestimate the effect that Portis' success could have on Arkansas' near term and enduring reputation.

Even though he was a 5 star recruit, who always excelled in high school against the nation's best talent, BP left the U of A after two seasons as a far more physically developed, experienced, and skilled player than when he arrived on campus.

He has made a couple of observations since he made his decision to go pro, which both make a lot of sense.

Among the reasons for this passionate Hog fan's decision to go early?  "I want to show other players that you can come to the U of A and fulfill all your dreams."

When asked about slipping to #22, behind 4 players from Kentucky, when he was SEC player of the year?  "Most people think of Kentucky as more of a basketball powerhouse than Arkansas, and I want to change that."

Interpretation: I am blazing a trail that makes it easier for future professional talent that chooses to attend the U of A.

Nolan proved a long time ago that you need two types of players to succeed...players that stick around and get better with experience, and players that are good enough to go pro within the first year or so after they start college ball.

Even though BP left before we would have liked, every positive development that flows from BP's hard work will benefit the program and recruiting, assuming that we are interested in regularly signing players who have legitimate aspirations to play in the National Basketball Association.

On a different level, and for a different type of player, Qualls rehabilitation and success will have the same effect.

Tonight's game was just a summer league matchup (against Karl-Anthony Townes, the #1 pick in the draft), and Portis wore him out.

I think NBA management and prospective recruits pay attention to that kind of thing, and we have Bobby Portis to thank for it.

The real key for his progress as an NBA player, is continuing to develop the NBA wing 3.

That's the route to getting serious minutes, and being the spacing nightmare the league demands.

He still needs body work, to keep guys like Towns off of the offensive boards, but that will come.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

He looked pretty damn tough out there i've gotta say. I realize its just summer ball but damn his shot already looks better.

I think he will thrive in berg's system.

He got crushed on the defensive glass, as the Bulls did in general.  Towns played limited minutes, but still garnered 9 rebounds-- 5 on the offensive glass.

Portis struggled with his shot in yesterday's game, going just 1/10 from the field. He looked real tired out there. Still adjusting to life in the NBA. I'm sure he'll do just fine.

Towns did not play limited minutes. He played 32 minutes. Portis played 27 minutes. Reggie Miller couldn't get enough of Portis. He was impressed. But Bobby will have his ups and downs for sure, but will always play hard.

I'm not sure where the shots came from, but I expect his FG% to suffer while he expands his range. It's worth it, though. BP's chances of a long NBA career will be bolstered big time if he gets to be a legit threat from NBA 3.

Limited minutes matched up head to head with Portis on that end of the court, which is where he owned the offensive boards-- which is symptomatic of what minor flaws there were in Portis' game.

After 4 games Portis is averaging 13pts and 8 rebounds per. Had a double double last night against Cle with 16pts and 10 rebounds. He's gonna be a good one and I think Chicago is going to have a solid duo to insert into their lineup in the future with McDermott and Portis.
