Since the thread is majorly derailed in Mmqb who us on everyone's wish list for RB coach...esp for recruiting specialty purposes...I would like to see Michael Smith moved to RB and hire someone for WR...IMO

Deland McCullough from Indiana is easily #1 on my list.  Outstanding RB coach and a great recruiter.

Only making $221,000.

...I dkw we can't get a running back coach from the Houston or lower La.
sorry, let's just stay w/Houston and an Offensive line coach

from the Big 10...

All our Quarterbacks should come from the West Coast.....

Porter at North Carolina or Luper at TCU are the two I would prefer.

Put me down for Larry Porter. Master recruiter in our main recruiting areas.

Porter, although I would certainly be happy with Luper too.  It would be interesting to see what McCullogh could do at a real program

Can you say that again so I can understand it?

I can see you want a RB coach from Houston or Lower LA area. Lost on the Offensive Line coach and no clue what you're talking about with QBs or defense.

Wildhog

Luper and Porter are big names, but I think McCullough is better than both, and probably a better "fit" too.

However, I certainly wouldn't be upset with either of the other two.

Love the speculation, but we all know it will be someone out of left field, per Bielema's usual.

Too late for that as we already took Randy Shannon and Clay Jennings from them

It will be somebody nobody's ever heard of, but will think is a brilliant choice. (And likely some Big 10 connection)  But I do wonder if Tim Horton would be considered.

Luper is a stud recruiter in our areas, though.

...have we every defeated a big 10 OLine in our history..?  Get a coach from
the big 10 who can bring in these butter feed behemoths...and also
who won't try to recruit against us at a catfish place...we did.
If Anderson had a twin on the West coast, for Qbs.

I'd be good with that...

In a non-serious recommendation, I say get Emmitt Smith. He's got his real estate business and Just For Men commercials. We can compete with Just For Men commercials, can't we?

There are a lot of good recruiters that are RB coaches out there, and many of them are making less than what we paid Singleton.

I wanted him to replace Thomas last year, too.

I'm not too set on anyone, though.  I just want someone that's PROVEN to be a great recruiter.

What about Thomas Hammock? Isn't that the guy always mentioned as a top RB guy Bielema has worked with?  He might be ready to leave the Ravens.

I'd be happy with Hammock.  He's been out of the recruiting game for a bit, but he's a well respected coach and was a very good recruiter before going to the NFL.

Wouldn't mind Ole Miss's Derrick Nix.  He's reeled in high rated backs consistently so he can sell ice to an eskimoe.  Maybe he'd like to be part of a program where his position group is more of a priority in the gameplan.

I'd be very surprised if he didn't.  It may not be the recruiter we want, but RB is a position where you should hire a recruiter.  Or your brother, if you're a Nutt.

All I want is a proven recruiter.  Doesn't have to be anyone in particular.  Just a guy that we know, for a fact, is a good recruiter.

Our ice isn't as green as the ice he's used to selling.  Due to Hughy's lack of interest in running the football, we have no idea whether he is a good coach or not.
