Ignore the word "scholarship" as some of you are getting hung up on that word. Which is my fault for using it.

The better question to discuss is how many top players do you sign? According to the video head coaches are  leaning to 11. The remainder don't expect to see any playing time.

Yes, we have a strong criticism of the coaches for accepting an athlete that played in pro baseball for ten years and in the majors for three seasons as a walk on to the team.  He had offers from elite teams and was a 4 star athletic WR coming out of H.S.

Georgia too. They hired a career pitching coach and he has a top 3 SEC offense in year 1. I know he inherited probably the best hitter in the country but even if you take him out, they've still hit like 25 more home runs than us. Georgia and Tennessee have been poverty programs in the recent past and are able to put out these offenses. I know we're spoiled and we win a ton of (close) games, but our offense is falling behind. The way we're winning now doesn't feel sustainable if we don't catch back up.

I realize that, in theory anyway, anyone can try out for the team.....but if we are talking about a preferred walk on spot then it makes no sense to me.   I get that a PWO is not a scholly player....but it's also not just some geek off the streets either.

I'm sorry brother but there is NOTHING negative about this signing. The man is a 10 year professional athlete who was recently in MLB. He is a grown man who has grown man strength and grown man smarts. Who better than someone like that to have in your receiver room.

It will be a national story. Fantastic publicity for the university. What if he happens to be a stud?

This is a 100% no risk and all reward signing. If you can't tell I'm pumped and um gonna be rooting for this guy.
