We as a fan base need to make it crystal clear to the leadership structure that we will not tolerate another buyout debacle. IMO unless you clearly have a top 5 coach, or are a very large national program, you do not offer a buyout that can't easily be paid at the time of termination. It's a horrible trend we shouldn't participate in. I would much rather pay more on the front end ie salary if money is the issue. As for security, I think we have seen what happens when you give that to a coach.

We as a fan base don't get to make these decisions, lol.

I agree that our impact isn't as large as others, but we are the customer and with the help of local and national media, our point can be communicated.

I may be mistaken, but I also believe that people in the power structure read hogville and if they see consensus or a well thought out presentation it will impact them.

I agree the buyout is a problem, but if the price of a top coach is a buyout, we'll have to pay it, or settle of someone way down the list.

I kind of view it as NFL vs NBA type contracts for players. In the NFL you may get a large signing bonus or annual contract number, but your contract may not be renewed if there are issues. In the NBA you have a guaranteed contract, so the length of the contract is most important.

I am also not aware of NFL coaches negotiating these buyouts into their contracts.

CBB's buyout wasn't a problem at first. It's the extension that bites us

I respectfully disagree wholeheartedly.  We as donors/fans/ticketholders have the very loudest voice.  We buy memorabilia, we pay for hotel rooms in NWAR , frequent restaurants in NWAR.  We frequent those businesses that broadcast both on the radio and tv shows.  There are a large number of people who make their living from the Razorbacks.  That has impact on a number of other voices that add to ours.  We speak with our wallets.  The powers at the University know this.

Are you going to boycott WM, Stephens Capital, Downstream Casino, etc??? Sure, if enough decide not to go, but many support the university, team, and players, I doubt a significant number of fans will forego attending to make that big of a difference.

I bet there were more in attendance in the New Mexico State game(which was not good) than there will be against Auburn(even though it's a conference game).   The attendance will be poorer and poorer as the season goes along.

annual contracts would never work in college... no Asst coaches would ever come to coach and what recruit would ever agree to come under those circumstances ?

Tickets are already bought for this year, so it won't have as much of an impact.

I don't think that it necessarily has to be an annual contract, can the terms of a buyout not be set to a lower number from the start? I think many coaches would take a three year guaranteed contract.

Oh it will have an impact on recruiting and the current mentally of our players.  Look for coaches to start jumping ship.

So, coaches are going to forego their paychecks for the rest of the season and leave?
