Never Attempt To Teach a Pig To Sing; It Wastes Your Time and Annoys the Pig

My how time flies!

Scarey that last time we hit the NCAA, Pelphrey was coaching Heath's players.

Nolan's last year we had a losing record.

14 straight years of post season play under Nolan.

So ready for things to turn around.

What's the question? When did we last finish in the top 2 in conference?
Was wondering the same thing and that was the only conclusion I have come to as well.

Looks like it's referring to making the Sweet 16 or better.

Ahh.

Why is that "the question?"
Good point...Unless we made the Sweet 16 tonight with our win over UT, I'm not sure why that is relevant.

Guessing the question is teams that have started with 16 or more wins in their first 20 games.

There is a locked thread down below that asks when were we last 16 - 4 to begin a season.  Not sure why it's locked but no one had answered so I was curious and looked it up.  It was sad showing my son who is 16 just how dominate we usedto be.  But being 16 -4 for the first time in 20 years can only mean we are on our way back.

The link doesn't speak to number of wins in first 20 games.
Sure it does if you click on each year and count down.  I didn't have anything else to do.

Why did you stop at '83?   ;D

And apparently each of those teams made at least the Sweet 16.  ;D

Not the '84 and '89 team. They lost in the 2nd round.

Was that before the tournament expanded to 64 teams?  If so, then the second round would have been the sweet 16.

Got it, thanks. That wasn't obvious to me from the OP or link.

89 wasn't.  84 was the last season with the 48 team field.
No cause, ever, in the history of all mankind, has produced more cold-blooded tyrants, more slaughtered innocents, and more orphans than socialism with power. It surpassed, exponentially, all other systems of production in turning out the dead. The bodies are all around us. And here is the problem: No one talks about them. No one honors them. No one does penance for them. No one has committed suicide for having been an apologist for those who did this to them. No one pays for them. No one is hunted down to account for them. It is exactly what Solzhenitsyn foresaw in The Gulag Archipelago: "No, no one would have to answer. No one would be looked into." Until that happens, there is no "after socialism."

huck

Where have you been?  It is time for Arkansas to straighten up and fly right.  I started UK in 82 and followed pretty good through the 90's.

The college basketball world seems better when Arkansas can get it through the hole.  My favorite game of all time was one in the mid 90's with you in Catlanta.  It was an ot game and my heart was pumping-got crushed-pumping-crushed, up and down, up and down and all around..... some overtime too, more than one I think......  I think everyone there felt about the same. Too bad you let the nuts run the coach off.

To me that was basketball at its best.  Had several Arkansas friends, that I only saw at SEC tournaments,  anyone up for a hillbilly lemonade.  I said one was probably too many, and some of you know about two!

It was a different time then, you could watch a game and then have dinner and drinks with you enemys.  now can banter with teeny punks.

Good luck
