If that exact play had been down on the other end and our guy was shooting the ball and a Fla player made the play that Harris made at that time in the game,  with all my heart, I know that the refs would have swallowed their whistles and the FLA player would have been the hero of the game.

We have seen it quite a lot since 1992 or whenever it was that we entered the SEC.  When it comes down to getting a call against the "old boys  or old guard of the SEC" like FLA(in football or hoops) or KY (in hoops), Bama, Georgia. the Hogs are just not going to get the fair shake.

Billy D has won 2 NCAA championships for the SEC and is a premier name and has been going thru a rough patch this year. To expect to get equal treatment AT Fla is just too much.

Mike A even called the ref out by name and said the same ref made a controversial call last year when FLA squeaked out a win at ARK.  I was proud of Mike for calling out the ref by name.  If they fine Mike (dont know if they do that in college), then so be it. If he gets suspended, thats okay.  Mike let everyone know who it was that made the horrible call and that he did it last year as well.

To win on the road in the SEC against one of the pillars of the conference, a team will have to beat the other team and withstand the refs and what they do.  Hogs are better than FLA but didnt play like it and that is why they lost.  They should have been up where a bad call couldnt touch them at the end.  But when you go to the line 5 times and your opponent goes 25 times, its tough.  I guess FLA is such an amazing defensive team that they simply dont foul. LOL

their propensity to get to the ft line was the difference

Are you saying they have a natural tendency to get to the line?  Really?  I don't think so... You have to be escorted there by the refs.  You don't just go there on your own accord.

Out of our first six fouls in the second half, 4 put them on the line for 8 FTA's.  So they were getting to the line before getting into the one and one.

Out of UF's first 6 fouls of the half, the Hogs got to the line once for 1 FT (Qualls 3pt play).

The foul difference was only 11-9 Hogs in the second half.  Florida got to the line though.  And some of that was the official swallowing their whistle on UF contact but they did that on both ends too often especially to have called that last foul.  Extremely inconsistent all game.
Quote from: MaconBacon on March 22, 2018, 10:30:04 amWe had a good run in the 90's and one NC and now the whole state still laments that we are a top seed program and have kids standing in line to come to good ole Arkansas.  We're just a flash in the pan boys.

One of the announcers comments was something to the effect that Portis had to lean to play through contact right after he had missed a shot in which he got hammered with no call...
