At least according to BJ Bennett of SouthernPigskin.com:

1. Third Down Improvement -- The decisive moments of each and every drive, third downs are where games are largely won or lost. Arkansas State currently ranks last in the Sun Belt in both third down offense and defense, 126th and 127th in the country, a devastating combination that has directly led to the Red Wolves' struggles. It's tough to develop any offensive continuity or prevent your foe from doing the same without better play here.

2. Redzone Efficiency -- It's critical that offensive opportunities be maximized completely. Of Arkansas State's eleven trips past the opponent's 20-yard line, just five of those drives have resulted in touchdowns. Though increased production overall remains important, the offense needs to be more effective when potential points are on the line.

3. Allow Fewer Big Plays -- The home run play, in college football, can be the x-factor on which outcomes hinge. To date, the Red Wolves have allowed ten plays of 40 yards or more, tied for the most in all of college football. Arkansas State must make offenses work for their production, progress which would limit the gains in momentum its opponents have had.

4. Protect the Football -- Turnovers can be the ultimate equalizer. Against Central Arkansas, the Red Wolves lost two fumbles and threw a pair of interceptions, miscues that led to the upset defeat; three of the Arkansas State turnovers resulted in points, a total of 17, for the visiting Bears in a five-point loss for the Red Wolves.

5. Pass Protection -- Regardless of who is center under for Arkansas State, the quarterback needs more time to throw the football. The Red Wolves have allowed the most sacks of any team in the Sun Belt, with 14.

It still appears that poor play by the OL, while not the only problem, is still the biggest issue, and Anderson said into days Jonesboro Sun that "We've got to go with a scheme that really fits out personnel....", so expect some adjustment going forward.

It does appear that Anderson is grasping the fact that starting 0-4, and especially losing to UCA, has hurt his credibility, and he is taking a different approach this week. While saying they have had the best week of practice this fall, he did note in the Sun's article that "....right now we have got a lot of problems.".
