Charlotte transfer LB Demetrius Knight II commits to South Carolina

Former Charlotte linebacker Demetrius Knight II has committed to South Carolina, via the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Knight, who led a defense that improved over 60 points in the national ratings, boasted a team-high 96 tackles this season. His 96 tackles were the second-most in the AAC this season. Knight also led the 49ers with three interceptions, including his first career pick-six at Maryland.

For his efforts, Knight was named a First Team All-American
Athletic Conference

Georgia native originally signed with Georgia Tech as a quarterback but quickly made the switch to defense. He played in 36 games over four seasons at Georgia Tech.

Knight played high school football at Strong Rock Christian (GA), where he was a three-star

Miami (OH) transfer WR Gage Larvadain commits to South Carolina

This season, he hauled in 42 catches for 649 receiving yards and six touchdowns for the Redhawks.

For his career thus far, he's hauled in 138 catches for 1,931 receiving yards and 13 total touchdowns.

Pittsburgh linebacker Bangally Kamara has committed to South Carolina out of the NCAA transfer portal, he announced:



Kamara has spent the past four seasons at West Virginia, where he turned into a starting linebacker over the course of his career. He has been quite productive the last two seasons, in particular.

During his career, Kamara has racked up 117 tackles, 11.5 tackles for a loss, 5.0 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, an interception and eight passes defended.

Alabama defensive line transfer Monkell Goodwine commits to South Carolina

Alabama defensive lineman Monkell Goodwine has committed to South Carolina out of the NCAA transfer portal.

Goodwine spent three years with the Crimson Tide but made minimal contribution.

Prior to enrolling at Alabama, Monkell Goodwine was a four-star prospect and the No. 69 overall recruit in the 2021 recruiting class.

Oklahoma quarterback transfer Davis Beville commits to South Carolina

Former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Davis Beville has a new college football home. On Wednesday, Beville revealed that he is joining Shane Beamer and the South Carolina Gamecocks for the upcoming 2024 season.

After transferring into the program from Pittsburgh following the 2021 season, Beville spent two years in Norman, OK. During his two-year stint with the Sooners, the senior quarterback has played in just seven games, with the majority of his playing time coming in the 2022 season. Beville played in five games, including one start, when former starting quarterback Dillon Gabriel, who recently transferred to Oregon, was injured. Overall, Beville's time at Oklahoma concludes with him recording 102 passing yards on 15 completions with one interception.

Florida State DL transfer Gilber Edmond commits to South Carolina

He started his career with the Gamecocks before joining the Seminoles in 2023.

Edmond appeared in 14 games for Florida State this past season, totaling 23 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and a sack in that time. Prior to that, he spent three years at South Carolina and put together a career season in 2022 with 39 tackles, 9.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. He then entered the transfer portal and joined forces with Mike Norvell (and Odell) at FSU.

Elite 2025 ATH Jordan Young to visit South Carolina

Monroe (N.C.) four-star athlete Jordan Young visited a plethora of programs in 2023, including South Carolina.

The Gamecocks had the 6-foot, 170-pounder in Columbia back in April and will now welcome him back this weekend. Young announced on Monday that he's set to make his first stop of the new year with Shane Beamer and Co.

Young is set to be one of South Carolina's top priorities in the 2025 cycle. The SEC program made the athlete's latest cut of top schools at the end of December, alongside big names like Alabama, Texas and LSU, as well as other close-to-home programs like Clemson, North Carolina and NC State.

Former Auburn quarterback Robby Ashford announces transfer to South Carolina

Former Auburn quarterback Robby Ashford has found his next home.

Ashford, who spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons on The Plains, has transferred to South Carolina, he announced Tuesday

In joining Shane Beamer's staff in Columbia, S.C., Ashford will stay within the Southeastern Conference after getting his start in the Pac-12. Before coming to Auburn in 2022, Ashford spent the 2020 and 2021 seasons playing both football and baseball for the Oregon Ducks.

Zayden Walker locks in South Carolina official visit

Top programs are pushing hard for Ellaville (Ga.) Schley County five-star linebacker Zayden Walker — and for good reason.

The top-ranked LB in the 2025 cycle is one of the most impressive prospects in the nation and is continuing to work through his recruitment. He's now locked in an official visit to South Carolina from June 21-23, he tells On3's Chad Simmons.

The 6-foot-1.5, 225-pounder was in Columbia earlier this month for a Junior Day visit — his latest with the Gamecocks. Walker's brother, four-star athlete Jalewis Solomon, signed with South Carolina in December as a part of the 2024 class.

Jay M Robinson '25 WR Brian Rowe gave a verbal to Shane Beamer and USC.

Rowe's on that cut line between three- and four-star and from the Charlotte area.

Brian's the 2nd hard commit along with WR Jayden Sellers from South Florence.

Sumter (S.C.) three-star EDGE Anthony Addison received an offer from South Carolina on Nov. 25. It was a significant one since he is not only an in-state recruit, but also has known defensive ends/outside linebackers coach Sterling Lucas since his freshman year.

Addison has already visited the Gamecocks close to 10 times and will be back in Columbia from June 21-23 for his official.

South Carolina trending for 4-star CB Shamari Earls

Chester (Va.) Thomas Dale four-star cornerback Shamari Earls named his top 10 schools. South Carolina was among that group, and now the Gamecocks look to be in pole position

Shane Beamer's program is heavily trending for Earls: South Carolina recruiting insider Chris Clark logged a pick in favor of the Gamecocks landing the blue-chipper.

GamecockCentral's Wes Mitchell did the same last month.

Earls has been to Columbia and has also locked in an official visit for May 31-June 2. Other SEC schools like Texas A&M, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia have recently had Earls on campus, but none have found momentum.

South Carolina has five landed pledges in the month of April and is now approaching a top-20 class.

Gamecocks landed two commitments last weekend weekend via Chester (Va.) Thomas Dale four-star cornerback Shamari Earls and Chesterfield (Va.) Matoaca three-star defensive lineman Caleb Williams. A top-125 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking, Earls checks in at No. 70 overall and No. 9 at his position in the 2025 On300.

Concord (N.C.) Jay M Robinson four-star wide receiver Brian Rowe kicked things off on April 9 and was followed by Abbeville (S.C.) three-star safety Damarcus Leach less than 24 hours later. Rowe is a top-400 recruit and a top-10 player in North Carolina, while Leach is the No. 10 player in South Carolina. Sumter (S.C.) three-star EDGE Anthony Addison then joined two days later on April 12.
